Review of White Water Landing @ Dorney Park

On a hot day, you really cannot go wrong with a spin on Dorney's shoot-the-chutes ride, White Water Landing. It is, first and foremost, a very impressive looking ride, as it towers a lofty 80 feet in the air. The setting is pretty nice as well, at the top of one of Dorney's hills. The simplistic design of this water ride works well, as is often the case with these types. The tunnel at the turnaround on top is nice, and the drop is fantastic, as it is very steep and quick. And make no mistake, when the boat reaches the pool of water on the bottom, a drenching wave of water engulfs the boat, much to the riders' delight. Although very similar in design (if not identical) to Snake River Falls at Cedar Point, I actually like this one better for some reason. In fact, it currently ranks as my 3rd favorite shoot-the-chutes, behind only Kennywood's and Hershey's. This get wet ride is a lot of fun, and the perfect relief from the sweltering summer heat.
