The minute I pulled up into the Dorney Park parking lot, I couldnt help but gaze at the relocated VooDoo as its 180 feet scaling height had me in anticipation. The color scheme blended perfectly from the bright yellow track & blue supports to the yellow trains. The wait was only 10 minutes & while I was watching the coasters takeoff, it drew similar comparisons in my mind to Wicked Twister at Cedar Point. I rode it 3 years ago & remember how amazing & unique the experience was. Unlike WT, which has 2 twisted spikes, VooDoo has 1 twisted spike & a vertical tower. Once youre in the train, theres a countdown for the 0-70 mph launch. Of course, I had my hands up during the intense launch. The first time around, you dont go as high on the twisted spike, but afterwards, youre constantly speeding back & forth through the station at blinding speed. Finally, theres a holding brake at the top of the vertical tower which had me shook as it built my anticipation & thrill factor. Overall, VooDoo was a fun ride with an intense launch & the holding brake was the X-factor. However, I felt that the ride duration was short & since I rode Wicked Twister before this, it just couldnt match up with the 215 foot superstructure with double twisted spikes. Id still recommend VooDoo to anyone who loves a powerful launch & being somewhat disoriented at the end.
