Review of Blazing Fury @ Dollywood

Blazing Fury was a very interesting and unusual roller coaster. It actually seems like a stretch to call it a coaster, as it worked more like a track ride / train ride for the good majority of its duration. It reminded me somewhat of the Calico Mine Ride at Knotts Berry Farm - an indoor train ride through sets that, while different in theming, are equally old-fashioned and cheesy. This one is themed to firefighters as they put out various blazes, but it never took itself very seriously. The only real coaster part came at the end when a covered bridge on fire collapsed beneath the train, sending us down into the water. This was actually a pretty neat little effect. I rode at first in the back, and I always felt like I was just behind the action (I heard the dialogue before the back of the train actually got to that particular set). So I rerode in the front, which did solve that problem, but it also gave me a pretty strong whiplash during the final splashdown that I didnt experience in the back. At any rate, I left Blazing Fury considering it a reasonably fun and certainly a unique experience at Dollywood.
