Review of Tower of Terror @ Disney-MGM Studios

Date Ridden: January of 2008. Times Ridden: 2 for each version (FL and CA) Part II (See TOT review at Disneys CA Adventure for part I of this review) On to the review as I am reviewing the two TOT attractions at once. The themeing on these two rides is absolutely amazing. The experience begins while moving through the line que (or skipping it with your fast pass) and continues on into the tower itself. Your first ride on either of these two rides will be among the most fun experiences you will ever have at a theme park. As you ride a second time (which I do recommend as the ride itself changes each time) it is not as totally immersive since you do have an idea of what to expect. The first time though is simply a completely unique situation that you find yourself in wondering what will happen next. There are some subtle differences between the two attraction which I will NOT go into for fear of spoiling the experience for anyone reading this who has not visited these parks. I think the FL version is slightly better but not enough to matter. I actually had more fun on the CA version however since I rode it first thus giving me an idea of what this version (FL) would be like. My first ride out at Disneys CA Adventure I was clueless and came off the ride seriously buzzing. In Florida I was able to ride at night which does make a slight difference at certain portions of the ride. Whle riding at night is not a high priority like I would recommend on some coasters, it is still fun and I would suggest you do it at least once. So anyway...are these ride really 10s on par with some of the greatest coasters in the world? Yes they are. Although I am not a huge fan of "The Mouse" and the money they squeeze out of people, there is no argument that they are the king of capacity and their rides are spared no expense as far as details are concerned. My rides on each TOT served to remind me that there are more than coasters at theme parks.
