Review of Nitro @ Six Flags Great Adventure

Nitro is just one of those coasters that has to be ridden and experienced to fully appreciate how great it is. This B&M hyper absolutely blew me away during my visit to Great Adventure, and I rode this coaster more than any other one (El Toro ran a close second, but it had longer lines, so Nitro won out in terms of total rides). Nitro is a wonderful blend of everything that makes hypercoasters such a blast - it has towering height, blazing speed, great forces, and mammoth airtime. The airtime is mostly floater, but thats cool with me because there are copious amounts of it! The 215-foot or so first drop is incredible, and from the back seat there is a gigantic jolt of airtime that is actually more ejector than floater. The second curving drop is sick, and one of the coolest drops Ive been on. The next hill is great and the turn around is forceful, followed by more hills with solid airtime. The helix turn into the mid-course brakes is great as well, and the finale bunny hills are executed with pinpoint precision. Nitro is just an absolute blast from beginning to end, and it never lets up. This was my first B&M hyper, and I can see why they are so popular! Nitro has it all, including an awesome setting that winds back into the marshy woods that are so secluded from the rest of the park. That adds to the thrill, especially at night. When in Jackson at this Six Flags, Nitro is without a doubt a must-ride. It delivers the goods with an all-out fun ride chalked full of the winning ingredients that make up one stellar hypercoaster!
