Review of Peanuts Ghoster Coaster @ Canadas Wonderland
1 Rating Posted by: coaster05 on 10/24/2007 8:49:00 PM
Well it is finally time to venture into the land of mediocrity which is CW. These reviews have been avoided by me since June, but it is time to venture forth. APPEARANCE-3 The ride looks good but there is no real mention of ghost or even Scooby on this CF themed nightmare. CAPACITY-4 One train, small seats, decent length, poor operations and you got a four. RIDE QUALITY-2 Very rough compared to the other ones like this I have rode. FUN-4 Funny as our knees rattled in pain, but even with my wife and a couple guys from TPR there was nothing much going on. RERIDE-1 No way. For a CF park I actually had a good day and the park looks great so I will be back, but this coaster is just not worth the time. OVERALL-14 AVG-2.8 I will go 3 just because you should round up.

Wow. Harsh words for a kiddie/family coaster. I havent been on this in 15-something years, but at the time I did not discern much difference from KDs John Allen version from which this was cloned (which, BTW, you gave a 5.) I am overdue to visit CW again, and I would avoid this ride anyways since it is not in the league of rides I want to focus on. I will take your word that this is rougher than KIs and KDs; that would not surprise me at all. What I found interesting on all the versions was that these are
flanged-wheel coasters, in the Fred Church tradition. Dragon Coaster at Rye is the only other one that Ive ridden like that, and Im guessing Belmonts Giant Dipper is the same way. I like your rating method as it is consistant from ride to ride, however I feel appearance should have nothing to do with it (what if you were "sight-impaired"? Does it really matter in the end?)

It is much worse than KDs. I believe the appearance is extremely important to my overall ride experience. The way a ride looks is usually a good indication of the ride. In this case the rides appearance would have been much higher had it not had the "ghoster coaster" theme.
