Review of Cyclone @ Six Flags New England

I dont know why this has gotten such terrible reviews. I sat near the back and experienced no pain, just a wild ride. Now I like the bumpyness of woodies, and have never gotten hurt on any of the ones Ive ridden. Splitting headaches for some must have affected their judgement of the Cyclone, because I see no reason to rate it low. Just high.

People give this terrible reviews because it supposedly used to be much better. It used to run without trim brakes. Imagine how insane the ride was when it didnt have them. Also, Cyclone is a bit slow in spots, but I look past that because of the insane ejector air-time in the back seat on the drops.

The original first drop in the back was a true white-knuckle experience rivaled by none. Being catapulted skyward then yanked violently to the left then right in the clockwise turn was intense(my friend and I referred to this as the "crash test dummy curve", because if you watched it from the old photo-booth area under the structure, every riders head would snap in a wave-like fashion.) The trim-brake on the run home would be applied only sporadically, but nothing ever rivaled the Cyclones pre-Six Flags days (I was one of the few that preferred the Morgan trains over the original PTCs; it was the PTCs reintroduction that forced the emasculation of this once legendary ride.)
My last ride was the year the first drop was reconfigured, and since then I have refused to go on it again. It is sort of like a girlfriend who once had a smokin bod and ferocious sex drive, but then relinquished herself to the ravages of time and the easy way out; rather than staying fit and trim, she has lost her fire and just lays there, with some motion that hints of her former glory in an effort to satisfy you. If you experienced her now, you wouldnt know any better, but if you had her in her prime, you would accept no substitute.
