Its a little hard for me to review the Smoky Mountain Wilderness Tour since thats not exactly what I rode. I visited Dollywood a few days before their Kids Fest special event began, and the website ensured that the Wilderness Tour would operate as usual until the start of Kids Fest. Despite this, the simulator had already been converted to Yogis Wild Ride when I visited. This annoyed me, but my irritation turned to confusion during the preshow, when William Hanna and Joseph Barbera started hosting. How old was this? I know both of these animators have died. The plot developed into a chase with Yogi Bear to rescue Elroy Jetson from Dick Dastardly, paying a visit to the Flinstones, Scooby Doo, and the Jetsons on the way. I had never ridden the old Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera at Universal Orlando, but this sounded incredibly similar to the description of that ride. Turns out, it was the same thing. Im not sure how Dollywood got hold of it, but for some reason I didnt mind missing out on the Wilderness Tour ride anymore because I got to try another ride that I would never have gotten the chance to otherwise. These Turbo Action theater rides are not my favorite types of simulators, as they dont feel all that real, but this one ended up being okay overall.
