Review of California Screamin @ California Adventure
1 Rating Posted by: ginzo on 2/25/2007 4:13:00 PM
California Screamin is the best Disney "roller coaster-type ride" in the US as far as the ride itself goes. This does not mean that it is the best US Disney roller coaster attraction, but it certainly delivers the most thrilling ride. Its not quite a hyper or rocket coaster, but its still very fun, especially at night. The launch, while not as intense as the other Intamin coaster just a few miles down the road, is a blast. I love how you are next to the water for the launch. The lay out is unique, featuring one loop with some pretty fun drops and airtime hills. The airtime bunny hills towards the end of the ride, unfortunately, arent particularly intense. Even in the back seat the train doesnt hit them with enough momentum to fling you skyward much, but this is to be expected with a Disney coaster. I found virtually no roughness on this Swiss creation after a good 15+ rides on it. California Screamin has a really unique look to it, which I happen to like. Its designed to resemble a woodie, even though its 100% steel. Although some dont like this, I think its a nice touch that complements and enhances the Paradise Pier theme. I did not care for the Red Hot Chili Peppers music overlay to the ride, but I think this is temporary. This gem is one more reason I look forward to my next trip to the Disneyland Resort, whenever that may be.

Funny. Although you raved about this ride, its not even in your top ten but has a better rating then some of the rides on there. Also, rides that you rated a 10 are under some of your rides you rated a 9. Very inconsistent.

Although I agree that I should clean that up a bit, I dont see any rides in my top 10 that are rated below a 9. So, no there is nothing in my top 10 that I scored below California Screamin. I didnt bother to write a review for a few of them, but there is nothing below a 9 that I actually scored. I was never very happy with my top 10, and its likely to change tremendously with this years coaster trips.

Yeah it happens. I think other people have said, and I will also say, you should probably rate your top ten to show your appreciation for the rides and maybe to help bring up their ratings.

Ill get to that when I get a minute. Ive got a lot of coaster trips planned this year. So, I think the list is going to change a LOT. Im almost certain Maverick will end up in my top 10, maybe S:ROS also.
