This is a coaster that may not be the most thrilling in the world, but I think it fits well in this park. The Comet is of course the star of the Great Escape, but the Steamin Demon, along with Boomerang, Canyon Blaster, Crack Axle Canyon, and Alpine Bobsled, all seem appropriate for the target audience here--local families rather than diehard coaster enthusiasts. While this Arrow model (drop, vertical loop, corkscrews) shows up in many parks, Ive got to admit that I think Arrow coasters look just great. Steamin Demon is no exception. It has a very clean coat of paint and serves as a great welcome to the park, with the Great Escape sign right next to it. The ride itself is perfectly fine. Like I said, not the most thrilling coaster ever created, but theres no unpleasantness to detract from the ride that it does deliver.
