Review of Sky Cruiser @ Legoland

The Sky Cruiser is one of the first attractions that can be seen upon entering Legoland. This is because it is set higher up than most of the others, on a track that resembles an elevated train. It must look like lots of fun to all the kids, as the cars get propelled along the track thanks to the riders spinning the pedals much like a bicycle. For these reasons, everyone just has to ride. And that creates a huge problem. This was by far the longest line at Legoland, and quite possibly the slowest moving line Ive ever encountered ANYWHERE. There are only a few cars on the track, so the capacity is severely limited anyway. But then it also takes a long time to load and unload each car. Yet each car only gets three people max. We stuck it out as patiently as possible, finally reaching the loading station. If there are two adults and one child, as there were in my group, the child must sit in the center. Unfortunately, the bicycle pedals are only located on the two outside seats. So the people who would most enjoy this aspect of the ride dont even get to partake. It really didnt matter anyway, as it took me all of about ten seconds to realize that the pedaling was just for show and had no impact whatsoever on the speed of travel. Its all automatic. The ride itself was short and really didnt have any Lego theming for itself. You just basically look at the nearby areas of the park. When it was all over, even the child in our group agreed that this was Legolands biggest blunder.
