Auto Scooter at Rye Playland was a fun bumper car ride that had some positives and negatives. Located to the left of the main entrance, the Auto Scooter is housed under a huge arena. Rye Playlands Auto Scooter is the kind of bumper cars ride that has the center divider forcing cars to go only one way. Generally a walk-on, Auto Scooter can get a wait up to 5 minutes sometimes. With many yellow and blue cars to choose from, there is a very large arena for the Auto Scooter. Anyone over the age of 13 isnt required to wear a seatbelt which is cool. Each car can seat up to 2 people, but often people ride single. There are many cars. Once the Auto Scooter begins, you ride around the arena at a pretty good speed getting some pretty good hits. Unfortunately, these are very hard to control going around turns since they skid a lot and often. Still, there are many opertunities to cause collisions and is very fun. However, Rye Playland gives a rather short ride cycle for a bumper car ride. Overall, a fun set of bumper cars. The Auto Scooter is much better than the Bumper Cars across the park. I highly recommend this ride to anyone who enjoys bumper cars.
