Review of Cyclone @ Lakeside Amusement Park

A great old fashioned wooden coaster in a traditional, carnival-like amusement park. Lakesides Cyclone has sleek, classic trains that contrast quite noticeably from the somewhat decrepit looking dirty white track. It leads you to expect a jarring, potentially risky ride. However, this was not the case. Cyclone was really not rough whatsoever. The first drop, as well as the several that immediately follow, all sort of bank to the left, so in essence the train is spiraling around within the structure. Even the straight sections of track here are tilted to the side, which was kind of neat. The coaster then pulls out of all of this to execute the second half of the ride, which involves several small dips that dont provide too much airtime, but they were still good, honest fun. At first these dips skirt the lake (to which the park owes its name). Then they bound along to the return to the station. Together, Cyclone and the Twister at Eltichs make for a nice pair of traditional coasters in Denver.
