Review of Catapult @ Six Flags New England
1 Rating Posted by: mrceagle on 8/31/2006 12:01:00 PM
This ride is the most painful observation ride I have eve been on. Im not one for slow inverting rides. it takes longer to get in and checked then you get on a ride. It reminds me of why I gave up sledding. Worth a ride if you havent been on it. but not much of a reridable quality in this one. but to the point it never fully worked. I road this 24 times. Up and back down. the ride never flipped.

Perhaps you should withdraw your review until next year when youve made a complete ride on Catapult. I mean yes, youve been on it, but until its worked its complete cycle for you then reviewing it is like reviewing a coaster that takes you up the lift hill and then due to some malfunction it stops, and you have to walk back down the lift hill. Yes you can say youve been "on" the coaster, but you really didnt "ride" the coaster. Same thing here, youve been "on" Catapult, but its yet to give you a "ride".

He rode it 24 times tho, not just once. Id say that justifies a review. He can update it next season if and when the ride is any different.

Yes but thats still like my "malfunctioning coaster scenario" but happening 24 times. Afterall, 24 multiplied by zero still equals zero. And if all Catapult did was raise you into position to spin without actually spinning then it never did what it was supposed to do. Were you given a ride? Well, up and down, but that isnt the point of the ride. Thats like that "malfunctioning coaster" scenario I just mentioned. If you ride to the top of a lift hill but have to get off before the first drop, yes you had a ride................up the lift hill. But you never really experienced what the coaster offers.

If youre going to review it, then technically speaking shouldnt it receive a zero? Afterall it totally failed to deliver a proper ride, and did that 24 times?
ibluv on 11/11/2006 4:35:36 PM said:
You cant give it a zero, but it still should be reviewed, so others know it doesnt give a proper ride and wont waste their time on it.

Mt are you saying you think I should lower my Review given what I said?

Well it failed to give you a ride............and it did this 24 times. Now I know rides can be technically very picky sometimes and I would choose to review a ride only after its been given a chance to do what its supposed to do. But in this case you are reviewing it and it completely failed to deliver a ride for you. To me, total failure is an absolute zero, but I do see what you mean about your "five" being based on ride comfort etc. So no, Im not telling you to lower your score, as you said "ride comfort" has value to you. Im just saying for me if the ride treated me that way and I chose to write about it before it gave me a complete ride, I probably would give it a "zero" for total failure to perform correctly.

When i first Rated it I gave it a 1. I though that was a bit harsh because I didnt get a full ride. So I upped it to a 5 Figuring what I got was an average experience and talked about the Uncomfortable restraints and slow loading. i will attempted to get on the ride this upcoming season. Ill adjust my rating up and down according to what I feel the ride was worth.

Oh and Mt. Fkyer, if you were going to wait and give your review until you got the ride to do what it was supposed too, then you really couldnt review a lot of rides, because a lot of them run like crap and dont do what they are supposed to do anymore *cough* Riversidecyclone *cough*
mrceagle on 12/7/2006 9:47:34 PM said:
Better examples would be Tomahawk and Twister. Rodeo once had that sort of problem.
ibluv on 12/8/2006 12:24:42 PM said:
^^If you think the Cyclone runs like crap, why did you give it a 10?
mrceagle on 12/10/2006 3:37:21 PM said:
I know very Clearly i did not give the SFNE Cyclone a 10. In fact Im Farly sure I gave it a 1. I hate the coaster and Often skip it on trips to the park. Thats if I hear it squealing or anything like that.

I know you didnt give it a 10 ceagle. I was talking about Got It. Very recently he upgraded his review to a 10, and just bashed it in his last post. I dont get it.

Saw that the other day And get your point. you dont bash coaster yet give it a ten rating. the point of the review is to support your rating.

Theres a big difference between a ride running "like crap" and not running correctly.

i get your point Mt. Flyer but I opted to review it. Mostly because it was one of the only new rides I road in 2006.
