I loved the fact that Dollywood used a full size antique locomotive (although narrow gauge) for this train ride. But the ride itself was a bit different than I expected. The park advertized a 5 mile senic railway though the smokey mountains. I didnt realize that it was actually 2.5 miles each way and the whole ride was 20 minutes long. I was told that the train was a must do at the park, and I should waste money on any other senic railways because Dollywoods was just as good as any other railroad in the Smokey Mountains and included in park admission. I would have much rather have had a longer ride all the way around the perimeter of the parks land than the short ride up a hill past some construction sites and then some pioneer facades. If it was actually going someplace, like to other stations around the park, I wouldnt mind the facades as much.
