Review of Coyote & Redwood Railroad @ Gilroy Gardens

The Coyote & Redwood Railroad travels around the perimeter of the entire park. It has two stops at opposite ends of the park, though I recommend hopping on at the station closest to the entrance first thing and riding round trip. This will give you a good orientation to Bonfante Gardens. The ride itself was good, though perhaps not quite as good as I would have hoped. The entire park is very aesthetically pleasing, with its trees, flowers, gardens, waterfalls, lakes, etc. You also get to see several of the rides from the train. So the views were of course nice. However, the train seemed to kind of rush through the course. There was a recorded spiel that dished out tons of info about botany, horticulture, and produce, but it was also going a little too fast to really take it all in and process everything. The whole experience had a little too much of a "lets just get through this" feel, which was surprising in a park that had such a slow-paced, stop-and-smell-the-roses, actually try to learn something type of atmosphere.
