Review of Laser @ Dorney Park

I was gonna say this was the worst coaster at Dorney Park but later in the day I found a even worse one. Alot of what I hated about this ride happened before the ride even started. First off while in line you notice how horrible this ride looks. It actually sits on wooden boxs and has water to weigh it down. I understand it is a portable coaster, but why cant Dorney make it permanent, like atleast cement it to the ground so it looks stable, unless they hopefully will get rid of it soon. Also there is little way to pick your seat, as you are let in and told to fill the train front to back. Then if you have a bag or loose articles to have to bring them onto the ride with you which means stuffing them between your legs. I asked the attendant why I couldnt put my bag on the platform and was told "All I know is you have to keep your bag with you". I also didnt like how there was only a lap bar and no over the shoulder restraints or even a seat belt. Then we get to the ride itself which brags about its 93 foot drop, it then climbs up the lift and throws you into the first drop and into 2 incredbilly force full loops, and if your scared dont put your head down in fear cause it will only back your neck hurt a whole lot. The ride then throws you into a violent turn which is slightly painfull and the ride just continues to turn untill the end. Overall a horrible ride and unless I didnt get draged on by freinds who didnt get to ride it yet, I would of never done it twice. A ride once if anything type of ride, a ride never if your smart.

Dorney isnt going to make it permanent because they are going to screw up soon and remove it for something really crappy like an Impulse or crap like that. Id love to see it become permanent but I doubt it. This coaster has operated safely for over 20 years with just lap bars.. in fact, I dont know of a single Schwarzkopf to eject a rider, you are completely safe, moreso than in your car trying to park. I mean, you are more likely to die while removing the $3 pepsi you bought from the parks vending machines than on the coaster. Sorry if this thing, all 90 feet of it, is too big, bad and scary for you.

lol, I know I am safe on the ride, or else I would have never ridden it, but it looks unsafe. I think that something additional like atleast a seat belt would be good as a added line of protection. My major problem with the ride was how painfull it was to ride. And please, I have rode alot bigger and scarier coasters then Lazer, like SROS, Batman, Boulder Dash, Hydra and Talon....those coasters I really emjoyed, cause I felt very safe and the ride was awesome.....Lazer is just plain horrible and painfull.

Laser is a coaster that only a huge coaster enthusiest can appriciate I think. Did you really think that this was painful by the way? If you want painful, try the Coney Island Cyclone lol.

I loved Laser...I just find it amazing that such a dynamic and intense coaster could be converted to portable-form, and yet Schwarzkopf did it a number of times as I have read. Why on earth would you want to bog things down by adding seatbelts? And actually wishing for OTSRs? Whats wrong with you!? If you thought this ride was painful as it is now, what the heck do you think would happen if plastic shackles were on either side of your head?
