Both the Nightmare Haunted House and Ripleys Haunted Adventure down the street were exceptional haunted houses, and Id be hardpressed to pick the better of the two. You begin here by having an invisible voice instruct you that youll be playing a little game--can you make it out before it decides to come after you? It sounds simple enough, though the voice goes on to say that the house is a challenging maze, and there is the potential that you could get lost in there forever. I absolutely loved the way they made the experience seem so real, like you really were making a big mistake by entering. The house itself was great. There were incredibly dark corridors and lots of scary moments. The voice followed us for much of the way, tricking us into wrong turns and dead ends. You really did have to think a little bit or youd go around in circles endlessly. Just like Ripleys, they only let one group in at a time, so it was a very exclusive experience, and the duration was very long, so it was well worth the money. And this one had the classical ending of being chased out by a chainsaw-wielding ghoul! I must say, both of these haunted houses completely exceeded my expectations. Its going to be very hard for others to measure up.
