Review of Incredible Hulk Coaster @ Islands of Adventure

Hulk is a ride that comes out of the blocks like gangbusters, and then moseys on home during the second half of the ride. Over the years I have gotten varied results on this coaster. The first time I rode it, I was less than overwhelmed, but then the next time it was like a different ride...one of the best out there. Lately, however, the ride has other issues. It is shakey and it gave me a few blows to the head, especially near the end. If I compare this coaster to the nearby Kumba, it doesnt quite stack up. The theming goes to Hulk, and the first part of Hulk is slightly more exciting due to the launch. However, Kumba has more power to each element and is intense from the start all the way to the finish. Kumba seems to be the same ride it was when it opened back in 93. Hulk is not aging as well, which is a shame since it is a lot newer.

Good review. I agree with everything you said. It is a shame to see it age terribly.

I dont think that the Incredible Hulk has aged terribly. First of all, the Incredible Hulk has only been running for seven years, starting back in 1999. The only downside with the Incredible Hulks that the first half of the rides exhilarating, while the second half after the final corkscrews really slow, uneventful, & mundane. Other than that, its a superb B&M coaster. If you want to have a slightly smoother ride, try to move your head a lil bit forward for the headbanging to go down. Thats what I do for Hersheyparks Wildcat & my ride experiences have gotten better & better.

While I agree that this ride hasnt aged quite as well as some other B&Ms, I wouldnt go as far as to say that it has aged "terribly" either. Still, I like your review, and you explained your position very well. Very well written review (grammar, vocabulary, etc.) to boot too. Nice job.

lol. I always take a chance to bash hulk. It is still a very good coaster, I just think its slightly overrated.

I dont (you are well aware of this ), but I do take any chance I get to point out how overrated MF is.

Just for the record, I didnt say it aged terribly in my review. I only said it didnt age "as well" as Kumba. If you want to ride B&Ms that have aged terribly, check out Iron Wolf and some of the other old stand-ups...ouch!

Yeah, I didnt mean that you had necessarily said the Hulk aged terribly, I meant that Scott did. And as for Iron Wolf, while it is certainly rough, I really enjoy it and will always ride it when I visit SFGAm (my home park, for those that dont know). And you have to consider, it was built 16 years ago, so its not going to be like brand new.
