Review of Bizzaro @ Six Flags New England

THIS IS THE BEST ROLLER COASTER I HAVE EVER BEEN ON! Theres so much floater airtime and its a long ride that never lets up! This is so much better than Nitro at Great Adventure because this has theme to it and the drop is bigger. If you are ever at Six Flags New England, YOU HAVE TO RIDE THIS.

First of all, rcnk, theming doesnt make rides better than others. And drop height is rarely an issue. For example, Phoenixs drop is 72 feet and Son of Beasts drop is like 3 times bigger. But Phoenix made the top 10 lists and SOB didnt. (I dont think) Even if the size of the drop was important, this drop is only 6 feet bigger than Nitros. The drop height isnt what makes this ride better than Nitro for folks. The amount of airtime and tunnels is what makes SROS better for folks.

If you think about it though, sometimes theming does make a ride. Look at a ride like Montu or something. Im sure that the ride would be very good even without the theming, but with the theming it becomes a great ride. Im not the biggest fan of theming in a ride, but when it is done well and right, it really makes a ride very good. Some rides dont need it, but they at least have to be presentable. Sometimes when the queue of Batman the Ride at Great Adventure is gross and the theming was bad it really killed the ride experience. The ride is still good, but I wasnt too happen when I got to the ride itself.

Yes the drop in biger on SROS but Nitro is faster. also Themeing is a mute point. it really dosnt have any. a superman simble and a few metle things in front of the buillding dosnt really top the list of theming elements. Nitro has almost that much. But nitro isnt a bad coaster. also if some one dose come to SFNE Superman is really the only thiing bringing them. the onlyother notible coasters are Pandimonium and Batman.

Theres other stuff besides coasters, Mr. C... and while its no BoulderDash or anything, I kinda like the Thunderbolt at SFNE

Yes thunderbolt is good but not something that will bring anyone to the park. also There flats are a bit dull. Twister, Tamahawk, nightwing(whe working) are all good and worth riding at the park but like Thiunderbolt I doubt they allown are drawing people tot he park.

mrceagle - Are you saying that Superman is a bad coaster? Just wondering because you said this... "Nitro has almost that much [theming]. But nitro isnt a bad coaster."

No his review gave me the empresion that Nitro was bad and themeing had everythign to do with it. Superman is a good coaster. I cant ride it comfertably with the new restraints but over all its a good coaster. But it really dosnt have theming. you have a Superman S in the queue line you cant see. the metal beams in front of it. the superman colors and the superman in the front. if your lucky they will have the music playing. but there isnt much of a theme there. I just think they could have done more with the coaster as far as theming gose.

I dont think the lack of theme is that big of a deal. Like I said before, Im not that big theming. I kind of prefer that this ride has a lack of theming instead of being themed out.

Im back and forth with it. I think since they want to call themselfs a theme park that it is important. but, at a normal park its not really needed. I guess its to suport there clames. anyways I dont think it shoudl be a reason for saying the ride is good or bad.

mrceagle, why does Nitro go faster, but has a shallower drop and a smaller drop than SROS? Or does anyone else know?
mrceagle on 12/22/2005 1:16:57 AM said:
The trains are a bit larger and Heavyer. Also Nitro is 230ft tall witha 215 ft drop it drops ont a dip but still picks up a good amount of speed.

Wow, I seem to start several bonanzas of posts. But about theming a little bit.
Folks who complain about theming for other rides, learn more. Millennium Force has like no theming, yet it often makes top 10 lists. No one who makes reviews for Millie seem to complain about theming, but several reviewers for Nitro are complaining about the "no theming" issue. I dont get it. By the way, Ive heard someone on this site say that the Nitro name doesnt have anything to do with Movietown. It actually kind of does. Those Super Hero movies have lots of explosions in them, probably using Nitro stuff. But enough about that. Back to theming. That El Toro woodie for 06 might top lists, but maybe it wont have that much theming. But if Millie tops lists without theming, so could El Toro, if its lucky.

Many peopel complain about a lack of themeing on SFI rides bacouse they clame to be a theme parks. If a none theme park ahs a really good theme and the ride is well themed you might give it extra credit for the extra effert. but if a theme park instaled a ride and puts in no effert to theme it then they arent keeping up themselfs as A theme park. How would you like it is Disney went and put in a standard Tilt-a whirl? now what woudl you think if that Tilt-a-whirl was themed to a particulare area of the park.
