Review of Batman and Robin: The Chiller @ Six Flags Great Adventure

This happens to be one of my favorite rides at Six Flags. The trains are tight and its uncomfortable. It also had lap bars which I dislike. I will review the better side first. Batman the Chiller. Well for my only ride on it this year this is what happened. 10, 9, 8, Boom we launched. We soared out and into the inside Top Hat. Then we go up for the corkscrew and I just realized. Theres more. We go down into the corkscrew backwards and then the inside top hat. That was brilliant. Hang on for dear life. Then you fly into the station and get out. Now for Robin. You launch out and do the Cobra Roll which was my favorite inversion. Next the barrel roll which was cool too. We did it backwards which I did not like as much but it was cool. I will settle with a 9.

You got a ride on the Batman side this year? It opened? Anyway, it is odd that someone said that they dont like lapbars when going through inversions, but depends on what you like I guess.

The lapbars on that coaster are pretty terrible, actually. I hadnt noticed on my first ride, but this time around, I realized how hard they clamp down on your legs. Just downright punishing, really.

I dont really find it the lapbars themselves, it is more just the seats in the cars that are really bad, which cause the lapbars to seem horrible.

Yes it had opened a few weeks ago. It broke down after about 2 days though.

I like the setup of the lapbars and seats just fine. The bucket type seats are nice; the lapbar isnt exactly comfortable but it feels extremely secure because of it. Sort of like Top Spin restraints, very uncomfortable but they pin the rider in so well that I feel free to let my legs and arms dangle free while riding. Thats just the way I feel about that subject.

Horizon12 - how do your legs dangle? Who are you, Gumby dammit?

I dont mind the lapbars as much as the space in the car. In fact, my feet always feel very cramped on that ride. Still, its worth it for such an intense, fun ride.

No, but I AM Stretch Armstrong! lol. Actually when I say dangle, I mean I dont keep them plastered to the floor like other riders do. Actually come to think of it, the only time I really do that is the part when the gondola is slowly edged down while the riders are facing straight down.
