I know many of you hate simulators...but I love them. I find them to be relaxing, entertaining, and very interesting to analyze in regards to how they operate. When it comes down to it, simulator rides are a work of technological art...the theming, pre-show, and ride all have to fit the storyline perfectly, and on top of it all the actual mechnical and computer mechanisms have to work in synch...this ride is really a beauty!

As far as the storyline and pre-show, bgw did a wonderful job with both...the story is easy to follow (unlike darkastle, which youre on mainly just to enjoy the ride), and it isnt structured around "reality"...you know its fantasy/cartoonish which allows you to have more of a fun time as opposed to critiquing "how gay the movie/ride is"...the only negative thing about the preshow i found is that busch hasnt grasped the concept of rear projection in thier preshows...the preshow was presented with what looked like a regular pro-sumer projector suspended from the ceiling, which is fine and dandy except the resolution isnt great (you can see pixelation and it is obvious to the eye that its a projection)

The ride itself is top-notch as far as non-track-guided simulators go....In most simulators one of two things generally happen. 1- the screen is stationary and your seats/vehicles (back to the future) move...or 2- the entire room (including the screen) moves (akabars adventure tours, star tours)...this ride is somewhat unique...the whole audience moves as a whole, but the screen stays still...so as youre seeing an image of falling off a cliff, the entire audience moves forward with the screen remaining still--but the screen is large enough that no matter how far you move, you NEVER see off of the screen--thus it surrounds you in the action and feels very convincing. The 3D is also great and doesnt try to pull off cheesy gimmicks--it strictly just adds to the effect of the overall experience...

This ride is perfect for all ages and WILL NOT give you motion sickness unles you are EXTREMELY sensitive--so this is definately pretty much safe for anybody. Make sure you ride this!
