Saw Mill Plunge is a nice log flume, and it uses Lake Compounces natural terrain to its advantage. Log flumes are always a fun ride and this one is no exception, but its not as good as other log flumes. Despite how Saw Mill Plunge has a dual loading platform, I still found the logs were dispatched rather slowly, possibly due to a lack of logs. That results in a wait usually around 20-30 minutes on a weekday. As for the ride, you begin by ascending up a hill along the mountain. Then concealed by many trees you meander around the course. I found that you wind around on the mountain for a pretty long time before slowly riding up to the finale, a drop of the mountain. Like most log flumes, the drop was fun but nothing to rave about. During the drop you are sprayed by a jet of water that hits your face on the way down. You dont get too wet, but still a fun ride for the entire family.
