Very poor experience over all. The ride seemed anticlimactic because of how slow the ride was going the whole time. I dont recall any drops of descent value and I rember simply seeing a barely lit room, no special effects or anything like that. I just saw the ugly limp of track sitting there. I hope they replace it with something worth riding.:devil:

Yes you are, but you need to support your extremely low rating with more than just very poor experience.

What do you mean no effects. they have stars on the tracks and wals that glow, the tullels that light up, and the video metiors on teh cealign theis revew makes no sence what so ever.

Then what exactly do you look for in a coaster? aparintly you have no clue what a family coaster is normaly like. mayb eif we had an ide of what you look for we can figure out your dislike for one of the best famly coaster around.

I too think it is a bit slow but little kids like bragging about they went on a roller coaster. I think it fits its purpose greatly.

Thing is even with it beign slow. the ride s long. longer then most coasters. sure its not a Hyper but still offers allot ina small space.

The creepy thing is I can touch the top going up. The theming is great. If you want hypers go to a Six Flags or Cedar Fair Park.

Goliath has no airtime. That is why i dislike it.

Your the only one talking about Goliath. everyone else is talking about Space moutain.

You really dont base your opinions on anything creditable. What more do you want in themeing? The whole ride is centered around space... it is dark with stars... hence, space. It isnt trying to take you to a different planet, or meet aliens. I dont understand your rating, except you wanted a thrill ride... MK doesnt want those... they want families and kids to come back. Disney will never replace it. Because the majority of their fans know to expect a family coaster before they even ride.

If I wanted a family ride I would pick something with significant and/or relevant theming. Yeah, it has stars and darkness, but its just a basic track under a roof with the lights off. This ride is only hanging on by a thread, and that thread is all the people that loved this thing as kids and still come back to ride it. A generation is coming where they dont give a hoot about this ride because its not a classic to them anymore. They expect bigger shows than what SM has.

I think it is sad that you feel young children wont enjoy this ride. I agree with you that a lot of the fans of this ride are adults who loved it as a kid but how is that something that doesnt stand the test of time. The key word for this ride is "family" coaster. For many kids this is their first "rollercoaster" and therefore it becomes memerable. I think that to most young children this is a pretty big ride, because of the fact that it is in the dark. I really hope that future generations still charish their childhood.

I ask you what is a classic to you? This ride was the first indoor rollercoaster and has been a hit for 30 years. You must hate the beast to because its 26 years old. A 2 is just to low for this classic.

I dont know, all I know is that when I rode, I didnt recall any theming during the ride.

Im kind of confused about what theming you were expecting. The entire ride is themed around space, which is pitch black with some stars. That happens to be how Space Mountain is themed around. You also must take into account that the ride was built so long ago and they didnt have todays high-tech animatronics. You expected way too much out of a classic family coaster.

Axman if you dont know what was around you when you rode the ride; how can you say there was no theming? that makes no sense to me. Sounds like you just wanted to bash this ride and made that up to do it.

Well there was tons of themeing axman. You just cant see it BECAUSE EVERYTHING is in the DARK. The ride goes 28 MPH and is in total darkness. Where is the themeing going to be visible? Oh by the way Happy 13th birthday big guy.

Actually im not 13. Please exuse my previous "cheese" comment... Maybe, if I go back to WDW, Ill ride Space Mountian again and view this quote on quote "themeing" for myself.

Well, lets see....

My first rollercoaster was The Matterhorn Mountian @ Disneyland. I rode it less than a month before I turned 3. This all took place on July 13, 1993, so...

Now Im approx. 15 5/12 years old.

Ouch, I have Boulder Dash right in my backyard. Like you can hear people screaming from my house, haha. But I never ride it, Im more of a Wild Cat fan.

Lucky! Im working very hard towards moving to Ohio when Im 19. Living here is nice, but its hell with no rollercoasters.
