Review of Tommorow Land Transit Authority @ Magic Kingdom

Lets be honest, Tomorrowland Transit Authority (Or as it is commonly known by Disney-holics, TTA) is a great way to get a view of Tomorrowland. Just riding on it, you can tell that Disney himself was the brain behind it. It is relaxing and enjoyable, not to mention it NEVER has a long line. Its one of those constantly moving vehicle chains like Hautned Mansion or SpaceShip Earth. Its also a bit hidden, because people think its the entracne to Astro Orbitor because TTA boards just one floor beneath the AO on the same pedestal.

Throughout the jounrey, comical narrators keep you entertained with things like, "All visitors from Nebula 714b, please keep your tenticles inside the vehicle as we pass this turn." Its corny, but just adds to the mood.

I only hope that The Magic Kingdom doesnt do what its stupid sister, Disneyland Park over in California did: Get rid of these lesierly vehicles which are occasionally propelled forward by tires in the tracks, just enough to cool your face with a warm breeze, and replace them with vehicles that blast from 0-60 mph, speeding down the tracks.

To be honest, I would be okay with it on three conditions:

1) Bank the turns. The only reason Disneylands failed is because, like The Magic Kingdom does now, they also had a slow moving transit ride... When they built the 60mph ride, the left the turn on the tracks flat... Therefore, the new vehicles had to come to a complete stop to turn on the tracks. This stopping caused the track and brakes to wear out and the ride was closed for repairs 60% of the time.

2) Change the track just a bit. Disneyland was also able to use the High Spped Vehicles because their entire track was outside. At WDW, a good portion of the track takes place in total darkness, moving right through the middle of, and occasionally getting a glimpse of the vehicles on, Space Mountain. If our TTA was made to go extra fst, the screems and exceleration sounds from the high speed ride would detract from the isolated feel of Space Mountain.

3) Change the name. At Disneyland, the high speed attraction was called "Rocket Rods," which frankly got made fun of a lot for obvious reasons. I would change it to Tomorrowland Rapid Transit Authority to fit more with what would be its predecessor, TTA.

Dont get me wrong, I love TTA, but slow moving vehicles dont seem to be futuristic anymore. I think TRTA would be a better choice if they HAD to change it.

Excellent review. That is all I can say. The theory behind the movement is magnets. Similar to linear induction but not nearly as fast.
