Review of Zoomerang @ Lake Compounce

This was my fave ride at the park when it opened in 97, but the last few seasons Z has gotten very rough (although probably not as rough as some Boomerangs). It really bounces your head around between the OTS restraints, causing headaches that can last for several hours afterward, unless you stick your head out far enough where its not between the OTSs. I have fond memories of this ride back in the day but now I wouldnt miss it if LC decided to can it in favor of a steel counterpart to BD.

This ride is far smoother then its local Boomerangs. The one at SFNE is terable ruff. this wasnt that ruff last time I went. a few weels seemed to be worn down. expect fresh weels next year and a smoother ride. ow, and expect it to stay. a Car ride has been sujected in the remaining space.

Pardon my ignorance, but what remaining space is that?

There is a land around the Zoomerang. they plan to build it in that area. Last I heard!

I see, well thank you for that piece of insight.

Are they planning this for the 05 season? I hope its full size and not kiddie cuz I luv those things. LC used to have one where the Zoomerang is back in the 80s when Hershey owned the park. It only lasted for a few years, tho.

They are only addign the Water park expantion for 05. Its on the Were thinkign about it list. this is along with the new coasters and thill rides. they will however be moving the road next year behind the Water park.

Even though nothing is certain, are there any more details regarding these proposed thrill rides that you know of? I know theyre at least a few years off and things may change, but I get excited really easy, and its been awhile since Ive talked with any of the parks employees. Whatevers speculation should be posted in the rumor forums.

Keep in mind there managment is being changed this year there MG moved to another park closer to home. As far as new thrill rides. ACE member sujested a Mintrain coaster tourds the back of the park. also a new top spin was mentioned as a pasibility. they never give us a yes unless they are doing it right there and then.

Wow, a mine train would fir so well in that park, that would be great.
mrceagle on 11/18/2004 9:21:20 PM said:
Anything new that isnt for the Water park would be great right now.
ibluv on 11/20/2004 10:34:47 PM said:
Exactly. I find it hard to believe theyre expanding just the water park 13 acres. That would almost make it bigger than the ride park.
mrceagle on 11/21/2004 1:09:20 AM said:
The ride park is tecnicly 100 acres. the water park is around 20 acres with the expantion.
Achibabwa on 11/21/2004 3:23:25 AM said:
A lot of that acreage though must be like.. the trolley, train, sky ride. Thats quite an ambitious expansion, I guess they must have seen an increase with the recent expansion so theyre running with it. Seems odd, but maybe itll bring ride lines down a bit.

Thre are no Water parks in the area. Its not liek NH with 4 water parks. Also its a great price. this means allot ot people. They need to add somthing even if its a flat to the park next eyar.

I just hope the atmosphere over there doesnt become too much like SFNEs.
mrceagle on 11/21/2004 10:14:37 PM said:
I dont think it ever can. not enuph room for that many rides and that many peaple. they also take too god a care of there rides.
ibluv on 11/23/2004 3:57:11 PM said:
That they do. Thats the one thing that sets it apart from SFNE. Plus the ppl that work there are nicer.

I would be more afraid of canobie becoming too much like that as far as crowds and the need to rush gose.
