Review of Rockin Tug @ Six Flags Over Georgia
0 Rating Posted by: BobFunland on 9/27/2004 6:04:00 PM
I finally rode the Rockin Tug the other day - it isnt the best of flats, but for all of the kids, they loved it. The location is alright, but I would have liked to have the hill remain exclusive for the River View Carousel. Ive seen these at other parks but have never been inclined to ride it again: it wasnt all too fun in my mind, but the kids like it and thats whats important

It is sort of like Intamins Half Pipe coaster (see rcdb - > Elitch Gardens for a pic of a halfpipe coaster), except much smaller (like 8-10ft in height), not vertical, and it has a small tugboat that spins.

What? Sort of like Intamins Half Pipe? That is like saying a Tilt-a-Whirl is like a Crazy Mouse Coaster... except that the Tilt-a-whirl is only a few feet off of the ground... and the seats and restraints are totally different... and really isnt a coaster either but a flat ride. You want a good pic of a Rockin Tug... go to the Knoebels section of this very web site (ThemeparkCritic) and look up "Rockin Tug". There is a photo of the ride.

The design of the track is sort of like the half-pipe. And I explained the differences (the seats vs. the tug etc). Also, the half pipe is listed as a coaster

So you are using a coaster (half pipe) as a comparrison to describe a flat ride (rockin tug)?

Yes, thats the best way I can use something that battleflag would know about, and has probably seen, to describe what a Rockin Tug is. Look back at my response to his question, I made sure that he knew its was only similar in appearance, and that it was a totally different style of ride.
