Review of Skull Mountain @ Six Flags Great Adventure

I have to agree with SLFAKE, good premise, boring ride. As everyone has said before, the line is just way too long. And it feels like a fire trap. The huge skull is definitly cool and so is the mountain, but the ride is way too short and doesnt offer enough. Maybe if you busted out the side of the mountain once or twice...hmmm...

The "Fire Trap" comment: I couldnt help but to think back to the "Haunted Castle" fire at this same park back in the 1980s (or was it early 1990s) as I walked through the dark queue. Even "tapped" my hand against the walls to see what they were made of.

The "Being Average" comment: Average? I would hate to see what you would consider "Below Average". Sure, Great Adventure has lots of rides (flats and coasters)... but what good are they if they are not maintained and/or open. The same is true with the rest of the park. There were must some parts that looked bad. I came away depressed... as a kid I was there in 1975 (a year after opening) and then returned in 1978 (after it was purchased by Six Flags). I can remember back that in that 2nd visit I had noticed that some of the "magic" that was the original Great Adventure was not there. Now, nearly 30 years later, any thing left of that magic is long since gone.

the park grounds actually looked god and maybe my average comment is because im comparing against other six flags. or maybe i was trying to convince myself i had mor fun than i did, because a month after going there i now refer to that place as a S###hole the name i used to use for kentucky kingdom

Ive visited 4 SF parks (either "branded" or named). My experience from Best to worst is as follows: SF Darien Lake, The Great Escape (simply for the Comet), SF America, and SF Great Adventure. I swear, at Great Adventure it looks like they do not bother to do any up keep. Put in a new ride, let the old ones rot. It was heart breaking to see the state of Rolling Thunder and Viper. When was the last time Viper ran on a regular basis? If it is there, run it. If not, take it out.
