It has been said that if the rollercoaster is the heart of a park, the carousel is its soul. If thats true, then this ride exemplifies this statement. Simply put, the best maintained and run carousel PERIOD. This four abreast ride is a true trip into the past, with the ride operator collecting tickets during the warm up (from the king horse, if you can even distinguish it!), and the ring machine operated without consideration of insurance premiums. The Carmel horses are superb, from the intricate carvings on the manes of the "star gazers" right down to the detail on the saddles. And no carousel can be complete without a finely tuned band organ, this one having more then one! Even if Knoebels didnt have the Phoenix, Twister, Skooters or Flyers, this ride alone is worth a trip to the park from any distance.
