Review of Falling Star @ Indiana Beach

As FALLING STARs go, this is the top of the heap! Its run fast, so the air and slide time is abundant. Its run both directions, so the ride is twice as long (compared to some theme parks) and theres a different sensation each way. Its run with a full-light show, which is spectacular at night. Its run near lakeside, so your view from the top is just incredible (lake and trees, pure nature). You simply cant miss this ride at IB!! Great flat ride a dn great ride overall!! Some thrill, but definitely non-stop fun.

I am so intrigued by this ride - I had a look at it at The Flat Joint, and it doesnt look like all that much...but I know how deceiving some flats can be. If I ever make it to this park, Ill be sure to give it a go.

A whole lot closer to home, Clementon Park has one too, which as I remember they run at a good clip.

To be honest, it doesnt look like all that much. Its just run PERFECT though. IB has it facing the lake and the dam, which gives you an incredible view from the top (relatively unobstructed). They also run it a good bit faster then most parks (and both directions), which allows for a lot of sliding and pops of airtime. This is just one of those rides that are EVERYWHERE, but are run and shown-off better at Indiana Beach. (Like the Double Shot, the Paratrooper, and/or the Water Swing, aka Yo-Yo)

the second best one ive been on is at waldameer but the harnesses dont give the full effect but the speed is similar. ib does have some real good flats.

The Rainbow is a different ride. The Falling star is made by Chance, and is shorter then the Rainbow. It also has two boons holding the platform, as compaired to the Rainbows one. The Rainbow is buit by Huss. The Falling Stars tend to run faster then the Rainbows, thus the need for the added support.

The two best I have been on are Clenentons and IBs. It is actually a surprise that Clementon still has theirs, as it threw a kid into the lake quite a few years back. Other parks that I know have them are SFA and Carowinds. HW removed theirs two years ago, no loss though, since it was run pretty slow.

Cyclonic - thanks for the clarification. Funny thing I was at both SFA and Carowinds and didnt get to ride it at either park. Ill make sure to catch a Falling Star when I get to IB on Labor Day weekend.
