Review of Bizzaro @ Six Flags New England
0 Rating Posted by: skierman on 4/9/2004 5:01:00 PM
You pull into the parking lot, and see a beast looming in the background. You look at the top, and see spinning gears. One thing goes through your mind, "I NEED to ride that...".

As you walk down main street you see Scream!, Thunderbolt, but none of those rides matter, youre focused past them, youre focused on that 208 foot hypercoaster calling your name.

You get to the ride entrance. Oops, you stepped in gum...

Once your in line, you cant help but to stare at the long 50-second long lift hill, and all of the twisted track in the spaghetti bowl. You get to the station finally, and go right to the back car. Once your train comes in, you step through the opening gates and sit down in those comfortable intamin hyper seats.

If your a guy, be sure to be careful when you close the restraints . One wrong move and you could be having a very uncomfortable ride...

The attendant checks your restraint, and you hear it. "All clear, enjoy your ride". Then you feel a thrust forward, and youre up. You start your way up the 50 heart pounding second lift hill. You dont think you can get higher, but you do. You look to the left and you see the Connecticut River, and to the right you see the whole park. Then you see it. You look to the left and see the last support, and then nothing. You know youre at the top and the only way back to the station is down.

The first drop is weird. Its like a slow motion experience. You crest the hill and take a deep breath of air in, its the best feeling in the world. Before you know it you are shooting into the tunnel and back up a massive hill getting insaine airtime.

The rest of the ride is really a blur the first time you ride it. Once you ride it a few times you get familiar with the layout, and its a blast.

P.S. The camera is after the overbank on the bottom of the first hill you hit.

And, to be fair - in case anyone didnt know - the new restrainsts were put in after a fatality on the ride.

Yes we all knew that, but a few of the New Englanders were still a little bitter about it. I never experinced the ride before the restraints, but I will this summer with them, so I cant comment on that. However, I think that anything to make it safer is a good thing. Although, Im not so sure that it wasnt the ride operators fault rather than the "faulty" restraints. I think that Intamin took a bullet when they may not have had to.

Tough to say on that. I have ridden it pre-restraints... this summer Ill be checking out the newer version.

Did they change the restraints on the other Superman coasters?

Yes, i changed my rating after i rode it this year. Only because they have removed the go/no-go seatbelt. They also only checked the restraint once instead of twice. This meant that they only pushed down very hard on them once, instead of twice so you arent pinned down as much. This made me get more airtime, and enoy the ride more.

Danny: Yeah, they did change the restraints on all of the S:RoSs.
