I lived in Denver most of my life - I was born here. Lakeside was always the park on the other side of the proverbial railroad tracks. After turning 28 years old, and riding over a hundred roller coasters over a thousand times in total, I decided to drive 5 minutes to Lakeside and try it out.
Cyclone - what can I say? $1.50 to ride and no lines, even in the middle of summer. The hill is not that great - but a good old-fashioned ride that Denver has been missing since the wildcat was torn down. Oh how I miss the old Elitchs!
Anyway - this ride is worth every cent - and is worth a visit. The way woodies used to be. Good old clean fun that does not leave you with bruises and sore body parts – but leaves you feeling the speed thru the turns and the suspense thru the tunnels.
Just give it a try - no regrets. If you hate it, try spending $25 bucks for Six Flags to get cookie cutters of the standard models - and then tell me what you think.
Travis.
