Review of Splash Mountain @ Magic Kingdom
2 Rating Posted by: UC on 11/28/2003 3:04:00 PM
Awesome theming. 3 Great drops with airtime. Splash Mountain is a must do, and is definately one of the most popular and classical attractions at WDW. Worth riding at least twice, more if you like to get wet! Its a blast!

I agree, this is the best ride in MK and Epcot combined! The only part I didnt think was great was, when you go up the lift hill right next to the last drop, they shoot water at you to make it seem like you get really wet.
UC on 12/11/2003 2:50:13 PM said:
Really? I didnt know that. I knew they did it at the bottom to make the splash seem bigger to everyone, but I didnt know they did it at the top. Interesting.
disneyman on 12/11/2003 7:21:31 PM said:
No, I meant that they do that when you go around the last drop.
MovieCoast on 12/12/2003 4:04:03 PM said:
Airtime? Hhmmm...thats different...I didnt get any? If I did Id love it even more if thats possible.
disneyman on 12/12/2003 9:16:03 PM said:
I dont think it is. I didnt get any airtime, either.
tacoking on 12/14/2003 2:53:16 PM said:
If you did get some sirtime it wasnt much at all.
disneyman on 12/15/2003 6:50:49 PM said:
Yeah. From what Ive seen, water rides dont have very much airtime, if any, although Ive heard that Dudley Do Rights at IOA does.
tacoking on 12/16/2003 5:15:42 PM said:
You bet DD does. Theres a part in the drop where it goes from a 60 to a 50* angle. You get some great airtime there.
cordovad6 on 12/17/2003 11:30:37 AM said:
You get pretty good Aritime in JP also
tacoking on 12/17/2003 4:56:22 PM said:
Yea but its not much.
UC on 12/17/2003 8:12:23 PM said:
Yes I do get airtime on SM, I think the rest of you are spoiled from DDR! lol.
tacoking on 12/18/2003 7:55:02 PM said:
Well where did you sit? Ive sat on ever row many times and havent gotten air on any ride.
disneyman on 12/18/2003 9:23:59 PM said:
The thing is, I havent been on DDR, I just had heard that you get airtime on it. Also, again, most water rides dont have any airtime.
cordovad6 on 1/26/2004 12:56:43 PM said:
DDR has decent airtime on it, i mean it isnt TOT great, but its good
disneyman on 1/29/2004 7:04:59 PM said:
Yeah, I havent been on either, but I want to go on TOT.
Danny on 1/29/2004 7:11:48 PM said:
You will soon in california I agree with what was said before, Ripsaw Falls has massive airtime and Splash Mountain has basically none.
disneyman on 2/1/2004 12:46:02 AM said:
Yeah, Im begging my parents to go to DL while were down in LA for Passover (Im Jewish) or some other time, most likely winter 2004/2005. Either way, I wont go on TOT for 3/4 of a year.
cordovad6 on 2/3/2004 12:59:10 PM said:
wow, major bummer, but i heard, and this is just a rumor, that TOT in Cali wont have the little "surprise" the one in FLA has.
Danny on 2/3/2004 6:28:28 PM said:
If you mean the horizontal room, then you are correct.
cordovad6 on 2/5/2004 12:45:57 PM said:
that sucks, i mean for me, that is one of the things that make the ride, The first time i got on it, i was caught completely off gusrd, plus the time it takes to get to the actual shoot ccreattes huge amounts of tension, oh well
disneyman on 2/7/2004 1:21:06 AM said:
Yeah, it will be a good ride, even without the horizontal room.
cordovad6 on 2/17/2004 1:00:06 PM said:
one can only hope, i mean they probably make up for it somehow, but the ride was gonna be different and probably funny, just not scary. there is and article on it on tower-of-terror.com i think it is called something about hotel mel.
disneyman on 2/17/2004 5:57:28 PM said:
Yeah, but even if it isnt as good, as the other, itll still be a great addition to the park. Also, my mom said that we could go during the summer, right after it opens!
zjohn1988 on 2/17/2004 6:01:51 PM said:
disneyland needed this really bad. now californians dont havta travel to wdw just for tot there.
cordovad6 on 2/18/2004 1:11:42 PM said:
lol, all you californians will get is a glimpse of it though.
disneyman on 2/18/2004 1:26:59 PM said:
Yeah, but it will it least be a fun ride.
cordovad6 on 2/19/2004 7:23:44 AM said:
lol, true
disneyman on 2/21/2004 6:33:02 PM said:
Actually, I just heard that Eisner himself tested it and complained that it was too short.
cordovad6 on 2/23/2004 12:53:53 PM said:
Eisber is seriously tweeked right now, especially with the comcast and pixar thing going on.
disneyman on 2/23/2004 6:31:26 PM said:
Yeah, he wont be around much longer, no matter what happens.
cordovad6 on 2/24/2004 7:26:20 AM said:
well, actually, he might, i mean just because Roy doesnt like it doesnt mean anything, and besides, eisner has done bunch of awesome things for the park, but yeah he has messed up a lot.
disneyman on 2/24/2004 10:43:24 AM said:
Yeah, but after the Comcast bid has gone away, he will be gone. Disney needs more money to make sure that this doesnt happen again.
cordovad6 on 2/24/2004 12:46:12 PM said:
well, the reason why comcast wants Disney is because of the broadcasting system Disney owns,.
disneyman on 2/24/2004 9:50:58 PM said:
Yeah, and its partners. Id say that having Coke and McDonalds as partners is pretty good.
cordovad6 on 2/27/2004 7:27:26 AM said:
Definitely, lus dont forget all of those little partners like LEGO and Virgin
disneyman on 2/27/2004 7:09:10 PM said:
I dont remember LEGO bieng a partner.
cordovad6 on 3/1/2004 12:48:30 PM said:
Technically its not an official partner, but the fact that they pay rent in DowtownDisney Plus back in the day, LEGO was making Disney (characters) toys, so there might not be an official partnership, bt there is a bit of an alliance.
disneyman on 3/1/2004 7:48:18 PM said:
Yeah, its possible, since it seems that Disney is only allowing partners space in Downtown Disney.
