Review of Incredible Hulk Coaster @ Islands of Adventure

As far as a COASTER goes, this is almost a typical B&M except for the launch and the intial inversion. Ill give it points for those two elements and the mist tunnel. But the themeing is LOST entirely once outside the tunnel (which is a trend on IOAs coasters). Its a great coaster for the Orlando area, but putting in a coaster isnt enough if youre going to put it into a theme park like IOA. The track needs to be enveloped in the world of The Hulk, not just there and green. The launch, inversion, and mist tunnel all merit a 9 (launch pails by Dragster standards), the B&M coaster merits an average 6 or 7, the themeing of the coaster (essential for an Orlando Theme Park) is a 4 or below. Ill call it even at 7, but will add that I will ride this everytime I visit IOA.

How do you think the ride could have been better themed? Youre going so fast that you wouldnt pick up any more

2D statues (keeping with the Marvel Island theme), passing through "Hulk-smashed" buildings, or even some INDOOR effects through sections wouldve added to the themeing. The speed is not "that fast," about the same speed as ROCK-N-ROLLER COASTER, so some small touch elements could really add quite a bit.

Yeah, but RRC is indoors. To see what 2D stuff would look like outdoors, see Animal Kingdoms Primeval Whirl.

To see what 2D stuff would look like outdoors see ALL of Marvel Island and Toon Island at IOA. Whether or not it has the style and power of the 3D sculptures and such is irrelevent when a vast majority of the other themeing is already in 2D style.
