Review of Kumba @ Busch Gardens Tampa
-2 Rating Posted by: BrooklynRi on 10/31/2003 12:00:00 PM
Stunning to look at. Truly one of the best looking, best settings for a coaster. A nice combo of elements, but I have to drop my rating in reaction to the head banging the ride delivers. OTSR are never popular, but if you must have them, ensure the ride doesnt bobble your head between them on every element!

The ride is a very intense ride, there is nothing wrong with that. Personally I didnt get any headbanging. Kumba is a great coaster, its just a little rough due to age.

Why do people think its rough? I dont think its rough at all.

Its not that rough but, it has gotten rougher over time. Its an excellent coaster though.

Well tell me a coaster that doesnt get rough over time. There are a couple bad spots on it though, like the bottom of the cobra roll. But its not bad enough to give it a five.

No, not nearly a five.

Its probably like how Batman: The Ride @ SFGAdv is now. It used to be real smooth, now its a real headbanger.

Except that Kumba isnt really a headbanger. The BTR at SFGAm isnt bad either.

Id have to ride Kumba to see.

I went on both Kumba and BTR last summer and found neither of them to have any headbanging.

I am going to Florida, yes. But I doubt Im going to BGT. Its impossible to talk my father into making a trip to Tampa when he doesnt even ride most rides anymore.

Are you at least going to IoA?

You cant miss the Hulk. If your dad gives you any BS about it, hit him over the head with something heavy.

Good. What other parks are you planning to visit?
Horizons12 on 11/11/2003 11:29:55 PM said:
MK, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM, Seaworld maybe.

Skip AK and SW and go to BGT.
Swimace on 11/17/2003 5:37:06 PM said:
BGT would be worth missing AK & SW for. Especially since they have floridas only wooden coaster (at a major theme park)+ they have montu and kumba

Swimace on 11/17/2003 9:34:12 PM said:
OMG how could I forget Python????? What was I thinking???? Oh well, better off without it.

I have a 0% chance of going guys. Plus I wanna ride Kraken.
tacoking on 11/17/2003 10:10:08 PM said:
If you skipped Kraken it would be worth it for Montu, Kumba, and Gwazi.
Swimace on 11/17/2003 10:19:30 PM said:
Kraken is still a good coaster.
