Review of Scream! @ Six Flags Magic Mountain
0 Rating Posted by: yika on 9/26/2003 10:05:00 PM
This ride was a major let down to my because im from the north where we have Medusa at six flags Marine World that is a floorless coaster as well, but it is a lot smoother, its a lot quieter(which is a lot better), has a better 1st drop by a lot, and its not the same old thing w/ a cobra roll and interlocking corkscrews... it has a sea-serpant which is half a cobraroll then the other half is reversed so you dont change directions. The corkscrews arnt interlocking but thats ok because they dont need to be. But i still liked SCREAM! enough to ride a few more times.

This would be a much better review if you wrote more about Scream! instead of Medusa.

I agree- talk about Scream! the ride was great, but I just cant see it as being better than revolution (which you gave a 9)

Im going to let this slide. Although I do think Scream deserves at least a 9. But I understand yikas reasons. You guys need to understand how Medusa West has a far superior layout to the Scream/Medusa East versions. Its so much better. I fully agree with yika. Medusa is way better than Scream. Problem is that was the only great ride at SFMW. They had some good ones, but only one great one. And Medusa was it.
p.s. Straight drops are always better than the curved ones.

Toaddy "Straight drops are always better than the curved ones". What are you talking about? Im not saying your wrong, but curved drops can greatly improve certian coasters. Anyone who says staright drops are Always better than curved ones obviosly hasnt ridden Alpengeist at BGW. Yes, I love straight drops and theyre alot of fun, but curved ones are fun too. By saying that straight drops are better than curved ones you would be saying that BGTs Python has a better first drop than Montu, which is a stupid thing to say.

Im not talking inverts. Those are a different story. But any other normal traditional coaster in any type of car riding on the track normally, I much prefer a straight drop to a curved one. Curved takes away intensity factory on traditional coasters to me.
