Review of Raging Bull @ Six Flags Great America
0 Rating Posted by: ABR on 3/23/2003 11:59:00 AM
This ride is very similar to my favorite ride, Apollos Chariot. However, this ride just didnt do it for me. I think its top speed was something like 70 mph. For some reason, it felt more like speeding down the freeway going 70 mph than a roller coaster. But I really like being up in the sky and I really like the restraints too.

wait, exactly what was your problem with it?

It just didnt give me that roller coaster airtime feeling. You know how when your going down the freeway really fast but it doesnt feel like your moving fast, thats my problem with it. Note that I tried going on it 2 more times and felt the same way.

allright, well, i guess everyone is allowed their own opinion, but i have to disagree with you. going down the first drop is amazing, and i truly feel that im going 73 mph. was that the only thing about it that you didnt like?

Well, it was a roller coaster. It didnt feel like a roller coaster, -2 points for that.

okay, but you know that a roller coaster doesnt necesarily have to be bumpy and rickety. B&M is known for its incredibly smooth rides. they are recreating what the roller coaster should feel like

No, the air time. B&M built a very similar coaster called Apollos chariot, that one gives you that airtime feeling, Raging Bull doesnt.

I have no problems with this review, Raging Bull really doesnt give you an incredible sensation of speed, like say Millenium Force. The only problem I have,is with you comparing this to Apollos Chariot. The two rides are totally different. They are designed to achieve to different things. Raging Bull wasnt designed for airtime. It is a nice smoothe ride with huge turns. Apollos Chariot was designed for air time. I do wish that they would have designed it for airtime though. However, the first hill does give pretty incredible air because of the little hill before the drop. I dont know if Apollos Chariot does this, but it is a very nice feature to this ride.

yeah, i dont have a problem with the review, and i agree that it doesnt have a lot of airtime, but how can you downgrade a ride for lacking something that it doesnt say it has?

If you sit in the back, the air time is great, but not in the front.

this coaster kicks!!! the best coaster in the park, when i was there! and i dotn know what your talking about, there was a lot of airtime on this beast!

there is alot, but i think in comparison to apollos chariot, there is much less. i think its a great ride, and the airtime is definitely there

i really want to ride nitro. thats one of the coasters that i really want to ride.

Apollos Chariot doesnt have such a great layout though. Its just a oval track. Raging Bull weaves in and out of eachother. Ive never been on AC, but Ive seen picrures and its only a oval track. Im guessing Raging Bull is more fun than AC...

Raging Bull is extremely fun, and that hyper is in a fairly small space.
Costr Craz on 5/20/2003 8:33:12 PM said:
Boba, Apollos Chariot has so much airtime you would lose your mind on it. And the track is not in an oval shape. Also AC goes in and out of its self twice, which isnt alot but when you get so much airtime you dont really care.
tacoking on 5/21/2003 10:30:18 PM said:
you also get a lot of airtime on raging bull, i dont know how much compared to other coasters, but you get a lot.
DemonRules on 5/22/2003 5:21:02 PM said:
yeah, id say there is some decent air time on bull, and it certainly is a great ride

Usually on a roller coaster, theres spots I like or dont like. Example, Nitro. I love the first drop, hammerhead, sometimes the 3rd drop and helix. Otherwise, the rest of the coaster is just OK. On Apollos Chariot, I loved the whole entire ride. There is not one hill or drop (except for the one coming out of the helix) that doesnt deliever air. And what I also love is how it delievers both types of air (floater and ejector).

As far as the layout, it isnt the most original but it does what its supposed to do and thats what makes it my #1 coaster.
