Review of Triwizard Tournament - Chinese Fireball (Red) @ Islands of Adventure
0 Rating Posted by: RAM20884 on 2/23/2003 9:09:00 PM
Ive never been a fan of inverted coasters but this coaster ranks high on my list for the reason of what it is in combination with the ice track. This was my first and currently only dueling coaster and i think making a dueling coaster inverted makes it more thrilling (although i have no experience to back that up). I dont know the normal length of the line but when i went it was fairly short. We walked right through the castle which is an attraction in itself. Highly themed and i kind of wish the line was longer so i couldve had moe time to look around. I chose fire for the fact that statistic wise its the better coaster having a higher drop (115 ft compared to ices 95 ft drop) and it goes 5mph faster than ice. The only thing that slowed down my wait was that i waited for the front seat but its worth it. Sitting in the front seat the best part is going head on at the other train before going into a loop. You feel a lot closer than you are. This is a great ride and i look forward to riding ice on my next trip there.Universal knew what they were doing when they created this park and id say Universal is better than Disney now as a result of rides like this.

all right! another convert to the good side. finally people are starting to realize that disney isnt everything its cracked up to be, and that other parks such as universal are leaving them in the dusk.
tacoking on 2/25/2003 5:15:24 PM said:
the ride is great. but as you can see disney isnt for, no let me restate that, disney isnt all for big thrill rides like coasters like the hulk, or other thrill rides like spiderman. so parks like the MK and universal studios are 2 completly different parks, and if you dont see that your are so SAD!!!
RAM20884 on 2/25/2003 6:52:46 PM said:
yea both are great and which is better..depends on my mood i guess..disney does better with themes but as for the actual ride (like if you stripped off the theme and just rode it normal) universal has better..i think IOA is better cuz they do have some great themes and some great rides but disney is still good..what i think disney needs to do is start incorporating some thrills. theyre starting with rocknroller coaster but they need more..plus some original stuff...way back when they were THE most original park, first parks with themes and the newest technology witht their animatronics..now they arent creating anything original..universal made spiderman, poseidons fury, ripsaw falls..all original and technologically advanced..this is what puts them ahead...this is what disney needs to do.
tacoking on 2/25/2003 7:01:24 PM said:
if disney does do that then they wont be the disney that they are now. the disney they have now is great. maybe do a little updating of the rides now. i like disney more.
RAM20884 on 2/25/2003 7:09:20 PM said:
but the disney that they are now people are losing interest in..its been all over.."low attendance in Disney parks"..and you can only blame sept 11 so much..i think they def. need to udate a good amount but i think adding thrill rides would make them better..like IOA..appeals to kids, families and thrillseekers. read mrceagles plan for improving EPCOT in the critics discussion forum..that explains how i think they should go as in incorporating some thrills.
tacoking on 2/25/2003 7:10:51 PM said:
yes maybe some thrill rides, not big huge things like coasters
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 3:59:17 PM said:
im fine with big coasters in disney IF they are themed..like rocknroller coaster.
tacoking on 2/26/2003 4:05:42 PM said:
thats like the only big coaster they got.
DemonRules on 2/26/2003 4:31:26 PM said:
why does everything the idiots at disney put out have to be themed? are you telling me that if they put out a coaster at the Hulks caliber, but without theme, youd think the ride sucked? its the ride that matters!!!
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 4:32:24 PM said:
exactly..they need more and im sayin if they theme them all like rocknroller coaster im fine with them.if they just put in sum random giant coaster it just wouldnt be disney.
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 4:35:03 PM said:
no..the ride wouldnt suck but it wouldnt feel like disney..i go to disney for the theme of the rides..not really he rides themselve cuz most are simple and outdated and nothin special...its the theme that makes them good and its their theme that makes them disney. they could put in a non-themed coaster but it would be kinda out of place and not true to a disney ride.
DemonRules on 2/26/2003 5:13:35 PM said:
you are the first person who has made sense in quite some time. i was thinking you guys were in love with disney because it had great rides, and i just couldnt comprehend that. but if you go for the theming, that makes much more sense. thank you very much for clearing that up
tacoking on 2/26/2003 5:20:09 PM said:
ram, in the 11th post, thats exactly what i have been saying. not just in this review but in many others
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 6:04:55 PM said:
yes i kno..i was sayin that to Demon..i agree with you on a lot of things about disney..the 10th post was directed toward you.
tacoking on 2/26/2003 6:15:00 PM said:
yes i could see that, and i know what your saying, but its not all to easy to theme a big coaster, rock n roller coaster wasnt THAT hard mainly becuz of the indoor part.
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 6:28:16 PM said:
ok..just makin sure..didnt want to piss n e one off..n e way yea it would be hard but i think disney could do it..just a challenge but if they were successful itd be like the ultimate coaster.
tacoking on 2/26/2003 7:40:48 PM said:
yes it would, but i mean even if it is a good themed coaster, it wouldnt be disney if it was a big coaster, i mean bugger than rock n roller coaster, do you know what im sayin???
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 8:44:49 PM said:
yea..disney is known as a family park and a coaster like hulk..well not everyone can enjoy, its not for the whole family.
tacoking on 2/26/2003 9:07:04 PM said:
i mean if they could make something along the lines of a space mountain or rock n roller coaster go ahead, but not a new huge big coaster. and i wouldnt recomend puttin it in the magic kingdom. maybe some place like epcot or MGM.
RAM20884 on 2/26/2003 9:17:56 PM said:
yea MGM is the thrill park so itd fit but MK it wouldnt..i wanna see a clone of Indiana Jones:the templ of peril coaster in MK..Epcot i could also see...personally id like to see one of these parks put in a wooden coaster..i nice one..i can picture it in the mexico area of EPCOT
DemonRules on 2/27/2003 8:30:41 AM said:
i realize that a coaster like hulk couldnt be enjoyed by everyone, but thats why they have thunder mtn and space mtn, two coasters that younger kids can enjoy, and if they put in a larger, more intense coaster, they would probably draw more teens to their park, because most of them go to IOA right now
RAM20884 on 2/27/2003 2:43:41 PM said:
i dont think it belongs in MK..MGM is good and id like to see one built but MGM is really the thrill park so itd go best there.
tacoking on 2/27/2003 3:53:15 PM said:
there are already tons of teens that go to MGM and EPCOT, those are more for the teens, MK is a family park, a huge coaster wouldnt go good there, but i could also see a wooden coaster at epcot, not necisarliy(i hate that word)a huge one, but a fun one.
RAM20884 on 2/27/2003 4:22:52 PM said:
i dont kno why but i have this vision of a wooden coaster in the mexico section..kinda setback from the lake witht he queue are bein like an aztec temple
tacoking on 2/27/2003 5:05:16 PM said:
r u phsycic????haha!!!i dont think that a coaster will go to MK ANYtime soon.
RAM20884 on 2/27/2003 6:13:51 PM said:
not like vision as in psychic..lol..like i can picture it..guess it came out wrong.lol.
tacoking on 2/27/2003 6:25:35 PM said:
i know what you mean, its like i can see a flyer at IoA in the JP area
RAM20884 on 2/27/2003 6:39:12 PM said:
thatd be cool...what do u think will happen w/ the triceratops area..not enough room there for a coaster.
tacoking on 2/27/2003 7:19:27 PM said:
i dont really know. i think they are just going to keep it wempty for a while.
RAM20884 on 2/27/2003 7:52:21 PM said:
i hope they replace it with sumthin good and dont make like "stegasaurus encounter"
tacoking on 2/27/2003 7:57:29 PM said:
yea, hahaha. nothin cheap like it was
DemonRules on 2/27/2003 8:55:41 PM said:
i agree that a flyer would be great in the JP section, and it could replace the awful pteranadon flyers, while keeping the same theme. im not sure if theres enough land right there, but they could definitly fit it in the JP area
tacoking on 2/27/2003 8:58:26 PM said:
the flyers are just for the kids, so i wouldnt remove them. just because you dont like it means it should be removed, i mean i dont really care about them, but its something for the kids.
DemonRules on 2/27/2003 9:02:11 PM said:
i understand that, but even some kids cant ride those because of such tight height restrictions.
tacoking on 2/27/2003 9:04:01 PM said:
thats tru, then maybe they should tear it down, but somewhere put in anther kid ride
DemonRules on 2/27/2003 9:06:02 PM said:
have you seen that whole dr, seuss ride with the characters going around on a track above the people? thats supposed to be a kiddie ride, but for some reason, they have yet to open it.
tacoking on 2/27/2003 9:07:53 PM said:
i know, iheard because of support pros or something like that
DemonRules on 2/27/2003 9:14:27 PM said:
do you know if they plan to fix it, or are they gonna just leave it as it is, because that could be quite the fun kiddie ride
tacoking on 2/28/2003 3:56:14 PM said:
i dont know, i think they should fix it, i mean i would give it a try, i remember when i went there for Halloween Horror Nights when i was walkin through, for that night it was Boo-Ville, i looked up to where the track for it comes out of the top of the building there was a Dr. Suess character there and there was a strobe lioght on it, and it actually made it look quite freaky.
RAM20884 on 2/28/2003 6:16:14 PM said:
ive always wanted to head down to USF during halloween horror nights or the mardi gras celebration.
tacoking on 2/28/2003 6:29:24 PM said:

RAM20884 on 2/28/2003 6:49:55 PM said:

tacoking on 2/28/2003 8:06:21 PM said:

RAM20884 on 3/5/2003 7:21:07 PM said:
wisconsin seems like one of those states that you forget is a state..like nebraska or arkansas, or montana
tacoking on 3/5/2003 7:41:30 PM said:
montana us worse than nebrska and arkansas. well arkansas is really bad because the name sucks!! its AR in front of Kansas
RAM20884 on 3/5/2003 7:42:34 PM said:
lol yea but its one of those states i forget exists.
tacoking on 3/5/2003 7:48:21 PM said:
uts hard to beat a name for a state that has a name of another state in it
RAM20884 on 3/5/2003 7:53:16 PM said:

tacoking on 3/5/2003 7:58:08 PM said:

DemonRules on 3/5/2003 9:35:41 PM said:
hey, nobody forgets wisconsin is a state, the packers are americas football team, the brewers, although a great name, suck worse than most minor league teams, plus we got the dells, and lots of fishing up north, although our governor is democratic......damn jim doyle
RAM20884 on 3/5/2003 9:38:02 PM said:
well i forget wisconsin..especially once FB season is over.
DemonRules on 3/6/2003 8:15:03 AM said:
well, we dont have a bonafide theme park, but word has it that a SF park may be built in milwaukee
RAM20884 on 3/6/2003 12:50:14 PM said:
thatd be cool..from scratch or is there are park there that theyd buy?
DemonRules on 3/6/2003 4:17:19 PM said:
no, theres an old industrial section near the highway and Miller Park that is really huge and no longer used. its just a monster plot of land.
RAM20884 on 3/6/2003 4:39:27 PM said:
thats like in RI there is Qounset point..an old airfield..its massive and it was rumored that SF was gonna buy it and make that SFNE but they didnt..too bad..its closer to me and a lot bigger
DemonRules on 3/6/2003 4:47:11 PM said:
yeah, this area is quite big, but it will probably be a long time before anything happens to it
tacoking on 3/6/2003 6:47:36 PM said:
i dont like the GREEN bay packers, but the TAMPA bay, not to mention super bowl champs, bucaneers kick ass
DemonRules on 3/6/2003 8:12:25 PM said:
hey, i have no problem giving them credit, im a diehard packer fan, but they didnt win and tampa did. kudos to them
tacoking on 3/7/2003 4:44:23 PM said:
tampa kicks ass. the bball teams, base and basket, suck here
DemonRules on 3/7/2003 4:50:22 PM said:
yeah, the heat and marlins, quite a dominating pair......our b-ball team is decent but the brewers suck. hey, milwaukee is home to the indoor soccer champions! go wave!
tacoking on 3/7/2003 4:57:20 PM said:
hey, um, the orlando magic are also a basketball team. they have t-mac and still suck.
DemonRules on 3/8/2003 11:47:38 AM said:
oh yeah, my bad. they are better than the bucks right now, and t-mac is awesome.
tacoking on 3/8/2003 1:20:58 PM said:
yes, but thet still, sometimes, just barely win. what about MJ, michael jordan. i liked him better in his older days with the bulls. but im glad to see him doing alright. but this season MUST be his last!!!
