Review of Bizzaro @ Six Flags New England

In 1999 Six Flags announced that the old Riverside Park would be upgraded to Six Flags New England, and to reflect the new upgrade SFNE would receive a mile long hyper-coaster, Superman Ride Of Steel. But because of SFNEs layout the new coaster could not be a clone of the other two Superman coasters in the northeast, instead the builder, Intamin, had to come up with a totally unique design. Eschewing the typical "big drop, two camelbacks, and a helix" layout of so many hypers built in the last decade, Intamin looked back in time and has created a classic 1920s "out and back" on steroids. The 221 first drop propels the rider on a voyage that is not for the faint of heart. Expect massive ejector air time on this ride, in fact air time is present on all but one of Supermans ten hills, and incredible speed is maintained throughout the length of the ride. People are warned to leave behind all loose objects before riding Superman, yet more often than not a wallet or cell phone is seen flying away by people in the back of the train. On few other coasters has sheer power been put to such excellent use and excitement. Little SFNE has been put on the map all because of this coaster, which has now won the title of "best coaster on the planet" by Park World magazine three years in a row.
