Review of Corkscrew Coaster @ Canobie Lake Park
-1 Rating Posted by: steve1321 on 8/23/2002 2:31:00 PM
Well... um, this ride is showing its age as it lumbers through the elements, shaking and banging... and the ride cycle is pretty short, they should automatically send it around twice. But what could it be replaced with thats under the 80 limit? I guess its cool that this ride was originally installed *indoors*

Update - got some better, smoother rides on 9/1 - revising from 5 to 6

mrc, I am respecting it because of its history... accroding to the RCDB this was one of the first three built and was originally called the "Chicago Loop", at an *indoor* amusement park in Illinois called Old Chicago, and then came to Canobie by way of IIRC the Alabama State Fairgrounds. Actually I was back at the park on 9/1 and got a couple of pretty smooth rides in seat 2.1 - obviously Canobie knows how to maintain their stuff as evidenced by the awesome condition of YC - so I can go up to a 6, but I cant go any higher in a world that has SROS@SFNE.

This isnt a hiper thow. and you taking a prototypw ride and comparing it to a coaster of adiforent type for a seasoned designer by that point. but Im glad you got a smoother ride last time you went. Oh they may be repaointing it next season a yelloy track with jet black soports.

they finaly replaced the wheel that was bad. it is the 2nd one of its kind and was even in a movie. it was the Magic City Express when first installed in AL but was renamed CorkScrew befor moving to CLP. and after 10+ years they are puting a sign up for the coaster.
