Review of Typhoon @ Santas Village
0 Rating Posted by: BigJohnWC on 8/20/2002 10:54:00 AM
This is a very unique ride, the only steel roller coaster ever built by its parent company (although the construction problems are a good answer why). Some strong loops and some heavily banked turns make this a fun coaster and a rather strong showing for a smaller amusement park, like Santas Village. My rating comes as follows, for a steel coaster this is a 5 or 6, for its uniqueness Ill give it a 7 or 8, for a strong steel coaster at a small family amusement park, this is a 9 or a 10 (comparatively). Ill average it out at an 8 ... especially when you consider theres harldy ever any kind of real wait.

Im bumping this review because RCDB just dealt me Typhoon as a random roller coaster. I think it looks strangely awesome and am now somewhat obsessed by it. The most bizarre aspect of the ride, in my mind, is its $1.5 million - in 1998 dollars - price tag. Apparently comparison shopping isnt a Santas Village strong point.

Too bad this coaster closed. That loop looked amazingly disorienting. I forget, did anyone save this coaster?
