A surprising amount of laterals. A decent ride.

5 is an amazingly low score for a decent ride.

I understand you rate on size not the type of coaster.

The Dragon Coaster was designed and built by Fred Church to work with the legendary Airplane that was dismantled in 1957. The Airplane was considered quite violent and the park commisioned Church to build a tamer ride for those not seeking "brutal" thrills. But Church did not design the Dragon Coaster to be a mere kiddie ride, he built it to be a beautiful ride to offer thrills and excitement without the spiral dips and sudden unexpected drops of its bigger brother the Airplane. The Dragon Coaster offers thrills and a unique dragon inspired tunnel that makes the ride worthy of an above average rating in my opinion. Yes, I agree, a "5" is too low---and it is not a kiddie coaster. Church did build a kiddie coaster for the park, but its not the Dragon Coaster.

Uhhh, I think you have the wrong park. You are thinking of the Dragon Coaster at Playland, this is a different ride.

yes he is thinking about the wrong coaster. though this dragon modle from Zemperla is a little wilder then the standard modle. and dos earn more then a 5. when I vote I vote on the type of ride not just the size. a well designed kiddie coster or family coster Ill still give a higher rating.

Ooooops-----I definitely have just turned numerous shades of red. Please withdraw my comments. I was thinking of the Rye Beach Dragon Coaster---I forgot about these little steel coasters.

Would you have rated it higher if it were still at cony Island Becase it was percoused from there but the ride was built in the mid 80 there.

i had this preconcieved notion of what a kiddie coaster like this would have been like. when i rode it, i found that there was more lateral gs than i thought there would be. again, this is a kiddie coaster and i really could have fell asleep on it, so i think that a 5 is a good score. it doesnt matter where it was built, and if i ride kiddies in the future, im sure that they will all get the same rating unless they are drastically different.
