Review of X @ Six Flags Magic Mountain
-6 Rating Posted by: TPChampion on 6/5/2002 6:25:00 AM
This has been a amazing year for me. Island of Adventure(UNIVERSAL),DISNEYWORLD, DISNEYLAND, GREAT ADVENTURE, MAGIC MOUNTAIN, SEA WORLD>>>IN 9 DAMN MONTHS. FLORIDA I WENT TO BECAUSE OF VACATION, GREAT ADVENTURE BECAUSE ITS ONLY 90 MINUTE RIDE, AND CALIFORNIA TO SEE MY BROTHER AND PICK UP SOMEONE FROM THE LOS ANGELES AIRPORT(WHATEVER IT IS CALLED)[LIKE YOU CARE], AND THE REASON I CREATED TIME TO VISIT SIX FLAGS IN C.A. WAS BECAUSE OF X AND DEJA VU. DEJA VU WAS NO DOUBT THE BEST ROLLERCOASTER I HAVE EVER BEEN ON IN THE THEME PARK FRIENDLY STATE OF CALIFORNIA. X, I was dissapointed. FORGOT TO GET A FASTPASS, I DIDNT KNOW THEY HAD ONE UNTIL MIDDLE OF THE DAY(DIDNT PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE ADS BECAUSE OF CONSTANT CHATTERING WITH the 10 billion around me), THAT MEANT HUGE LINES. EXTREMELY LONG WAIT. THAT IS ONE REASON THIS RIDE GOES FROM 10 to 7. SECOND THE RIDE IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WHILE ITS RAINING. Althought is wasnt raining hard, you kind of get the feeling a accident is going to happen because of the trains slipping(ofcourse they wont "slip"(Please dont make fun of my selection of words)). The ride itself is the most wonderful to look at, but kind of uncomfortable when your going head first with .."Rain drops popping on my head"...I wont give it a 1 or 2 but this is no doubt a wierd experience(All I remember is having fun, dont remember any turns or whatever, but I guess thats a positive part of the ride)

i dont get why some people lower the rating because of lines. how long the line is, is not part of the ride. and the best rides will have the longest lines!

Yea, I dont think you should count things like lines and the rain in the rides grade. Although they might dampen the experience, lines is something that you jus gotta live with. With big time coasters comes big time lines. However, you should never let rain lower a coasters grade. Of course its gonna cause some pain if u ride at 70 MPH into a rain drop. However, thats not the rides fault, which is why that should definitely not impact a coasters grade. I do see your reasoning, though, to lower a coasters grade. Rain and lines can really put a damper on any ride, but dont hurt its grade because of these uncontrollable elements.

i personally think rain makes a coaster more fun

seriously..dont blame the ride cause of the rain and the longer wait for coasters builds my anticipation.

TPC Champion- have you given any ride a good rating? I look at your reviews, and you give rides that average a 9-10 a 5 or 6!

you shouldnt rate a coaster on the line or the weather.

You can make lines that better accomidate the guests and make thier wait more comfortable and interesting. A very long line in the sun with no protection will always drop a couple of points in my book. Lines are a part of an attraction, that if overlooked can hurt the overall guest experience.

I take lines into consideration too, all be it a small consideration. If the line is long, but the ride is short, I question whether it was worth the wait.

sure the line may be long, but it all depends on the ride. i personally dont think the line effects the ride rating at all.

sorry to make fun of your "selections of words" but SLIP! there are twelve wheels on each car 12 wheels
x7 cars
----
=84 wheels per train
that are gripped on the top, bottom, and side. and the line isnt supposed to count.
PS. i hope you had fun in cali. fun state isnt it

The first thing I want to mention is watch the caps. its the same as yelling. I two rait rides in the lines are then trying to make you comfertable and have somthing to do wile in line. are their things to see or read. and do I get to experiance the ride. the big thing I have herd from X is that the turning of the train taks away from the manovers of the track. Why put inversion if you cant injoy them?

X is awesome! No way it is anything lower than a 9, maybe a 8.

You should NOT be riding in the rain.
is any coaster fun in the rain?

I love riding in the rain. rain = less crowds/lines. I did all of SFNE coasters at least twice plus some flats in a matter of 4 hours this past summer. Although the raindrops did hurt my eyeballs (they hurt for two days) on S:ROS I still gave it a 10
