I did not like this junior woodie nearly as much as its cousin down at Kings Dominion. While it is still light-years better than most junior coasters, I was expecting it to be like the one in Virginia, but alas this one lacked the gentle pops of air hidden throughout its compact layout. Worst of all, the train jackhammered a bit at the bottom of the drops. It is not enough to ruin the ride like it was for the Minebuster, but it just put a damper on the experience.
My main thought coming off this was that it really paled in comparison to the one at Kings Dominion. Well it has been years since I rode this, but I do remember coming off in some pain. The one at Kings Dominion is extremely smooth and fun, but this one was pretty bumpy throughout. This one just seemed to be slower and just all around less fun. Also, there was no air to be found. Still, kids probably would have a rip-roaring time on this and for a kiddie coaster its not half bad.
I have been on a few of these coasters and I can say that this was the worst one Ive been on. Loading took forever and the ride was surprisingly rough unlike the others Ive been on. Also, this one lacked the little air that others had.
Well it is finally time to venture into the land of mediocrity which is CW. These reviews have been avoided by me since June, but it is time to venture forth. APPEARANCE-3 The ride looks good but there is no real mention of ghost or even Scooby on this CF themed nightmare. CAPACITY-4 One train, small seats, decent length, poor operations and you got a four. RIDE QUALITY-2 Very rough compared to the other ones like this I have rode. FUN-4 Funny as our knees rattled in pain, but even with my wife and a couple guys from TPR there was nothing much going on. RERIDE-1 No way. For a CF park I actually had a good day and the park looks great so I will be back, but this coaster is just not worth the time. OVERALL-14 AVG-2.8 I will go 3 just because you should round up.
Having ridden it as a kid, I remembered it as being quite fun. On a recent adult re-ride, I found it to be very boring and it always has quite a line up, as well. Unless you have really young kids I would skip this one.
Very kiddie and pretty long line for a kiddie ride go on scoobie doos haunted mansion now that is worth your while
Pretty good family/kiddie coaster. It was my first wooden coaster at the park while I was braving up to MCMB and Wild Beast (both of which I love now) so at the time it was good. The first drop is cool, and the hills are fun. Kids would love it as would anyone whos just starting out on coasters. I give it a 7.
Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster is a wood junior. It was built by Taft Attractions and designed by Curtis Summers in 1981.This is a fun junior coaster that has excellent hills and a nice first drop. It reaches a height of about 40 feet and speed of 35 mph. It is 1,356' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
Best kids coaster Ive ever been on. Loads of fun, smooth, and with the slightest hint of airtime. Sort of a hybrid coaster, the kids love it, but grown-ups can enjoy it, too.
Best kiddie coaster EVER!!!
