This ride is fast, fun, rerideable, nicely decorated, has a large capacity, and long duration. The TR version will never be forgotten.
My first and last top spin. Although my personal experience on the ride was more like a 1, such a rating would not be entirely fair, given that much of my poor experience was due to my own dislike of the ride, and not a result of the ride itself (does that make sense?). Irrespective of this fact, I did not find the ride to be enjoyable at all. The supposed theming that they seemed to advertise on signage before the ride (smoke and strobe effects, lights, etc.) was nowhere to be seen, and all told, the ride essentially boiled down to being spun and flipped around in the dark. The ride also gave my stomach more than it had bargained for, and although I was not sick because of it, it did shake me up for some time (I generally have a fairly high tolerance for this kind of thing, with coasters rarely affecting me at all). I will grant that the ride was intense, and I didn'.t get beat up on it, but I did not enjoy the sensations that the ride produced and overall regretted riding, something that rarely happens to me. Definitely one to avoid unless you are a big fan of top spins.
I dont really like this ride and I dont really hate it, usually only ride it with someone whos never rode ir because its too hard to discribe, Wouldnt hurt my feelings if they took it out to make room for another coaster
This was a mediocre top spin in my opinion. The fire and water effects were excellent and by far my favorite part of the ride. However, this one just had a really short cycle with only a few flips and then quite a few teases.
The wait time is an average of 3 hours. Not worth the wait
I was disappointed and actually pretty sore after this ride. I LOVE Houdini at Six Flags New England and was hoping for the same deal. Instead, it was a pretty painful and I hate to say it, annoying. I can hang upside down on a coatser, but hanging upside down for that long and being pushed too was very uncomfortable. The story part seemed to go on too much, and the line is always long.
I normally dont like Topspins since the massive flipping starts to get tom, however this one is so lame that it is actually worse then getting sick. We also had no water on our cycle and the pre show is lame. Nice scenary in the ride, but definately not something to do again. You want a great top spin go to Alton Towers.
Im a bit torn about whether to give this ride a 6 or a 7. I generally love topspins. However, this ride is not your typical topspin. It tells a story and then focuses your attention on different parts of the room and holds you facing that section when the story is being told. Some positions that you are held in put pressure in strange parts of your body. The story is a bit weird, the ride is short, and there is little in the way of regular fast topspin rotations. For me it is about a 6.5.
The queue areas, like Flight of Fear, do not show the true wait. We ended up waiting about an hour for it to start. Make sure you listen to the nice people and put EVERYTHING YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE in the little straps because I lost my hawaiian necklace and my friend almost lost his glasses and we both lost about 30 dollars combined in game tokens. It flips you around about a hundred times and leaves you upside down. A lot. Its very uncomfortable and I didnt like it. It feels like you are going to fall out of your seat because your whole wait is pressed against the restraint. I wouldnt be surprised if this happens one day. They should have a weight limit because if that restraint comes off then you are dead.
The queue is the most impressive thing about this ride. Ive been on regular top spins before that were more thrilling... this Giant Top Spin, aside from having comfy seats and restraints, was just blah. It could be because teh ride itself is is incredibly short.
