Date Ridden: Summer of 2007. Times Ridden: 1 (made two laps). This was a fun little park we spent an hour or so at while out in sunny California. Merlins Revenge was a well-themed junior coaster with some unique features; the main one being a water element. When going around one of the turns, Merlin (located in the middle of the course) blows water out randomly and we got a little wet on each lap. 5 is my standard grade on these multi-lap family oriented type coasters but Ill bump this one up to a 6 for the uniqueness.
I find roller skaters to be decent little coasters and this one was no different. It was very smooth and the turns were fun and the helix finale was great as well. There was a good headchopper during the ride that wasnt on the other roller skaters Ive been on.
Kids seem to like it, so I guess its passible as a "kiddie/family" coaster. But (believe it or not) I think the smaller "Little Dipper" ride is a bit more fun. As for Merlins Revenge, I think they could have made the dips a little steeper, even for a kiddie ride. The mini-tuns can be good for a mild "thrill."
The coaster is a good ride.
