Another coaster that proves that big things come in small packages. Pegasus is the smallest of the four wooden coasters there, but it's far from a kiddie coaster. This thing packs a mean punch for a small coaster. And a bit of a warning: beware of that slight right turn before the final brake run. It packs a wallop!

This is probably the worst wooden roller coaster I have ever been on to this point. I would get on it once for the credit, but other than that you aren't really missing anything by not riding this ride. Get your credit and focus more on the other rides.

Pegasus is a wood roller coaster. It was built in 1996. It was built by CCI and designed by Larry Bill/Dennis McNulty. It is 56' tall, and 1,278' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.

A great smaller wooden coaster. Considering that this is the most kid-friendly coaster at the park (except for Little Titans), I was surprised by how forceful it was, especially in the first half. I found it to be generally very smooth, another boon for a coaster that a lot of kids ride. Great, fun, coaster…do not skip this coaster in favor of the larger ones when visiting Mt. Olympus.

Not a very good coaster, but not horrible either. It really has no excitement factor, but all you have to do is look at it to see that. Watch out for the very end when you come to the station, very forceful.

I try to be philosophical about rides like Pegasus. After all, the kids have to start somewhere, and Id just as soon initiate them on a custom CCI wood coaster as on an Arrow mine train. Yet the bottom line is that, in this case, the mine train would probably be more fun because it would have a more creative layout, some fast turns, and maybe a helix that dips close to the ground. Pegasus, on the other hand, is an uninspiring clockwise circuit around a mildly undulating track. From the looks of it, you would expect some speed and airtime, but it never manages to pick up steam or deliver the goods. True, it does have some relatively substantial laterals, thanks to the shallow banking on the curves, but while this feature usually works great in tandem with other dynamic elements, it cant, by itself, carry a roller coaster, and certainly doesnt save the day for Pegasus. Im already plotting my toddlers eventual roller coaster curriculum (God willing hes interested), and I could picture this being the ride that signals to me whether the boy is ready to graduate from something like the Scooby Doo Ghoster Coasters at the Paramount Parks to something more substantial like the Thunderbolt at Six Flags New England. If hes bothered by Pegasus turns, then Ill know I should just send him to piano lessons. If, on the other hand, I see him shake off the ride and ask for something with a little excitement, then Ill know hes ready for the next step. Seriously, though, anything that builds a kids confidence and leaves him wanting more has its place in the scheme of things. That, plus the aesthetics of the ride lead me to bump this up from a 4 to a 5. I especially like how Pegasus keeps up the themes established by its bigger brothers: the naked wood is appropriately rustic, the station is elevated and the ride begins with an immediate drop, the PTC trains provide some added respectability, and the coaster neatly intertwines with another attraction, in this case the Medusas Drop Go-Kart Track. Overall, however, the ride does not live up to its presentation. In a park dominated by Greek Gods, Pegasus is a reminder that even the mighty CCI was, after all, only mortal.

I am not sure why this was made. Very uncreative and any speed you have you lose in the slightly rough curves. Not much to say as it provided no emotion at all.

Not that great. Its designed for the whole family but its too rough and uncomfortable for the younger family members and not thrilling enough for the thrill seekers. It also appears as though the great Pegasus was never taught how to turn left either. Oh well, its still a CCI which makes it at least better than Dive to Atlantis.

Times ridden: 1 ~ Ride experience: 4 ~ Layout: 5 ~ Thrill Factor: Low ~ Airtime: Low ~ Layout: 5 ~ Reride factor: Low ~ Evaluation: Although Pegasus would be considered a coaster that can be enjoyed by the whole family, I dont see how anyone could enjoy it. The layout, which pretty much makes the ride, isnt that good. Worst of all, Pegasus is terribly jerky and rough for a small family wooden coaster. Unless youre a die-hard coaster fanatic, that needs a lousy credit, Id pass on Pegasus.

An average junior coaster, great for a family. Not very rough but also not overly braked.
