If your an adult this is a very tame ride, but its unfair to critique it from the perspective of an adult. This is a ride thats for little kids. And just seeing all the kids on this thing screaming and laughing showed that this ride does exactly what it is suppossed to do. The children riding this were really seriously happy when I was watching as I waited in line. The ride-ops were so nice as well. The only reason I give it average though instead of excellent is that the first time around it kind of hurt me as it stopped the first time around. But maybe thats what I get for riding a kids coaster.
Date Ridden: Labor Day weekend of 2006-2007. Times ridden: 2 for a total of 7 laps....I think. Im trying to continue my "one review per day" quest and I need a short one for tonight. The Howler is a basic childs coaster which serves its purpose well. A child who went with us rode this thing 25 consectutive times so its great for the kiddies who can feel that they are truling "lapping" a coaster. The line is non-existent and the ride ops were great. Adults are allowed to ride without children. This gets the standard grade of 4 for a junior ride that does multiple laps.
Not much going on with this coaster other than the giant dog head which is kind of funny. An attraction that is actually hidden behind the large playground equipment in a very "weird" kiddie area. Definately off the beaten path, but I also got the two laps, but that is not really something to be excited about.
I am pathetic. Meh, a Zamperla kiddie. Nothing even remotely thrilling, and the ride op put it in "credit whore" mode allowing me only one lap, dammit I want both!
A pretty good junior coaster. You get to ride it twice on one trip. Good beginner coaster for children. The Howler is a steel sit down roller coaster. It was built in 1999. It is a junior. It was built by Zamperla. It is 15' tall, It is 300' long. It is fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
Times ridden: 1 ~ Ride Experience: 4 ~ Layout: 2 ~ Thrill factor: 1 ~ Landscaping: 4 ~ Evaluation: Howler is a below average childrens coaster. Although it runs the layout twice, the ride is very boring and uncomfortable. Though not very thrilling, small children love it. Id recommend it to families traveling with youngsters.
hey i liked this kids coaster! how come everyones dissing it? i rode it with my little cousin and we had a blast!! if u ride in the back u actually get some airtime. and u get to go twice so thats cool. its an excellent coaster for kids to start out on!
An average kid coaster, but I gave it a few points above average because it started out pretty fast ("What is this, Flight of Fear?"
, and if you sit in the back seat, you get some airtime!
Your average small sized family coaster. I appreciate Holiday World letting me ride for the credit.
Not one of the best kiddie coasters, but oh well.
