Fun little junior wooden coaster. I liked the kid-friendly paint job, but loading took a really long time for this coaster. The layout had no huge drops, but some bunny hills did give some pops of air and the entire ride was very smooth.

Scooby-Doos Ghoster Coaster is a fun-filled junior wooden coaster. Painted blue (very similar to the Sky Princess in terms of its paint job), Scooby Doos Ghoster coaster is by far the smallest of Kings Dominions four wooden coasters. However, dont underestimate this coaster as it certainly gives a ride thats above the kiddie coaster level. Now I have been on this a few times and what should have been about a 5 minute wait has been around a 15 minute wait. Despite running two trains, it took forever to load because of seat-belt trouble. Also, the ride ops werent much help as two of the three or four operators were busy planning a ski trip FOUR MONTHS away. However Scooby Doo is good enough to overcome that, but it does take a point away. The drops arent by any means big, but the ride is just pure fun. While it was on the short side, the very smooth ride I got was much better than I had expected. There even were some pops of air on a few hills! Dont be fooled by its appearance if you got to Kings Dominion as this is certainly a coaster for all ages.

Scooby Doos Ghoster Coaster is a fun junior wooden roller coaster for the entire family. Located in the KidzVille section of the park to the left of the main entrance, Scooby Doos Ghoster Coaster has a kid-friendly, sky blue paint job. A compact John Miller family coaster, Scooby Doos Ghoster Coaster has a Scooby Doo logo above the entrance. While waiting in line you can see the figure-8 shaped layout. Due to very long loading times and long intervals in between dispatch times, Scooby Doos Ghoster Coaster has a slow moving line and a pretty low capacity. Adults had a very had time restraining themselves with the seatbelt and the seatbelts frequently got stuck under the seat. A buzz-bar also is used to restrain riders. I had a 15-20 minute wait with a 2 train operation on a weekend. The bright green, orange, and yellow trains each held up to 20 people. My favorite row was by far the front because of the small pops of air-time during the bunny hills. Once restrained, the operators dispatch the train and it travels around a right-hand U-turn. Following that is the 35ft lift hill. Because of the rides age, the lift hill was slow and a little jerky. Then the train traveled down a small, but fun, first drop. The train then travels around a small turn-around hill. At the bottom your picture is taken. After that is another small turn-around hill that provides a brief pop of air-time for front seat riders. Then the train races over a small bunny hill providing a brief pop of air-time, followed by another small turn-around hill which provides the best pop of air-time for front seat riders. Then the train crawls over two small bunny hills before hitting the brake run, ending this fun family coaster. Overall, a fun junior coaster for the entire family. Kids who want to ride coasters larger than kiddie coasters will find this an excellent starter coaster. I recommend Scooby Doos Coaster Coaster to anyone who enjoys classic wooden coasters.

This is a fun little coaster. A little mild wild action for parents and kids alike. Nothing amazing, but not a coaster credit to be embarrassed about either.

EDIT- I rode Scooby Doo for the first time in five years on 10-22-06 and was pretty impressed. The trains are incredibly small, but I fit in okay. The first drop was decent, followed by a slow turn around. However, the ride really picks up speed toward the second half (which is just how I like my coasters) and provides SEVERAL moments of decent air and one actual lateral turn-around. This is now my favorite junior coaster, just ahead of the Road Runner (Wild Mouse) at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.

This woodie is a wonderful little coaster with some nice floating air and pretty good speed for a junior coaster. If only larger coasters were like this one! A cute little ride.

One of the best junior woodies Ive ever rode. It has a moderate drop, some good airtime, good laterals, and is pretty fast for a junior coaster. This coaster should be preserved since its the last PTC junior coaster built. Its a good beginner coaster.

This and its sister (Fairly Odd Coaster @ Carowinds) are absolutely the best junior coasters around. It has a beautiful bright blue paint job. It has a great combination of "junior" air time and speed. The kids just adore this ride. It isnt too rough or painful. It is even comfortable for adults, and watching your kids have the time of their lives makes the experience multiply. The day we rode it, only one train was running which made the line an hour and a half! However, I wont count that against the ride itself. There is no better junior ride in exsistence.

A VERY good starter coaster for any age. The drops have some surprising airtime for how small they are, and the turns pack some pretty solid laterals as well. This little rides looks can be very deceiving. Little kids love it 8)

I like this coaster as a junior/kiddie woodie but I dont understand the ghoster coster idea. APPEARANCE-5 Just a blue coaster in their kiddie section, other then scooby doo by the sign not much going on. Maybe it should have a tunnel or something for the ghoster part. CAPACITY- 5 One train and small seats, the ride is also short so the train gets back to the station quick. RIDE QUALITY-7 In a seat by yourself it is a very fun junior coaster. FUN-5 I wish it had some theming to it. RERIDE-5 I would definately ride again with a small line or a youngster. I am really glad so many parks have these family coasters, even though Im not currently a dad i look forward to rideing them with my child someday. OVERALL-27 AVG- 5.4 So a 5 a good kiddie coaster but just an average overall ride.
