This was my first and only bobsled coaster and I liked it. It is different being in round cars and flying around curves like that.

Best bobsled coaster Ive been on in the US. The trains look great and I love how the layout comes close to some trees. I found the ride to be very smooth throughout and all of the turns were great and there was some great movement by the cars. The final helix was very fast and there were some good Gs during it.

Avalanche was a perfect coaster for me and its an all-around great ride. Next to the larger and more thrilling Volcano is Avalanche, their Mack bobsled coaster. I have been on this twice and would have been on it more if I hadnt have been short on time. Each time I waited about 10 minutes, each time for the front row. The inline seating is unique and the ride itself was phenomenal. I really felt like I was sledding down a hill as the many twists and turns sent the train flying up the wall. Also, the ride was glass smooth for the most part (there was just one tiny jolt on the mid-course brake run, but it cant ruin this gem). I loved the final few twists and helixes as they felt quite fast and were close to the ground. Dont miss Avalanche as it was my second favorite coaster at Kings Dominion behind Rebel Yell.

This is a perfect family coaster. While the attraction does not seem like the best fit next to Volcano, Avalanche is pretty fun. The first half is pretty slow and dull and the transition into the brake run is very jerky, but the second half makes up for it. The coaster boasts a rapid-fire series of turns and by the final helix, the bobsleds have really built up a considerable amount of speed and really swing up the side of the trough. Of the two bobsled coasters I have been on, I prefer the Intamin Alpine Bobsled to this Mack model, but it is still a pretty fun coaster worth riding.

This was not a super thrilling ride, but it is good for some moderate level excitement. Fantastic for families and a must if you have never tried a bobsled coaster before. Also, if you are so inclined, you can get some good photos of Volcano from this ride.

This is a surprisingly popular "coaster" located by the Volcano in the Congo section. I love the station which has a wooden floor. The countries represented on the cars are a nice touch. The ride itself is okay. It seems to pick up a lot of speed, slow down, and then pick up speed again. Some of the turns are very heavily banked which adds a little bit of fun. Its a little short, but is a fairly thrilling ride. Its just nothing Id really go running to, especially in Kings Dominions Congo....

I heard that this one of the better bobsleds out there, but this ride doesnt do anyting really exciting until the end. The first few turns are very peaceful, but the finale really gets going. The final turn along the ground is pretty fast, but thats all this coaster really has going for itself. A good family coaster, but not much else.

Hmm, lots of twists and turns at a decent speed. Pretty fun. Very smooth. Not thrilling but smooth and nice change of pace.

Appearance-7 Good scenery, track in good shape and cars in good shape. Ride Capacity-3 12 people per train. Fun-7 Feels more like bobsledding then Disaster Transport.
